  A special show featuring Janis with old friends Fred Knobloch, Thom Schuyler, and Tony Arata, this quartet has been chosen to open the annual Tin Pan South extravaganze. 

  Janis often says that Thom, along with Don Schlitz, convinced her  to move to Nashville 23 years ago. Coincidentally, it was a co-write with Thom that got Janis her first "country" cover, for the song "A Love Like That", sung by Judy Rodman.

  She has also said that the first time she saw Knobloch play (at the Bluebird! in 1986), she realized it was possible to be singing a great song AND playing fantastic guitar as an accompaniment. Up until then, she'd felt the guitar had to be fairly simple to accompany the voice, or it would detract from the song. (In fact, the song was 'Feels Like Mississippi', one of the best songs ever written about the South" she says.)
