Unbelievable. April already. Just three months into the year and I've already done shows in six countries. I must be out of my mind...
This will be quick, because I'm desperately trying to make deadlines for everything from my upcoming commencement speech at Warren Wilson College to my next shows with Karla Bonoff. And as many of you know, I'm having rotator cuff surgery in mid-May, which means I've had to cram everything I planned to do all summer into the next month. Impossible!
In the meanwhile, I got to attend a taping of Big Bang Theory and sit in Sheldon's spot... started a project with the incredible Dave Grusin and the equally talented Monica Mancini... had dinners with my pals Kevin Eubanks, and Akira Tsukahara... recorded my autobiography for release this fall via Audible.com...spent a fantastic afternoon at the home of Harlan & Susan Ellison... and broke bread with Captain America.
Who says life gets dull after 60?!
Hoping you are all the same...

A new song, in honor of the Swannanoa Gathering's 25th anniversary! Says Janis: "A writer is always influenced by what she hears around her. This will be my third visit to Swannanoa Gathering. Who Really Cares Audiobook Now Available!
On sale right now in the Shopping Mall. Originally published in 1969, Who Really Cares began as a collection of the poems Janis had been writing since the age of seven. The book was later expanded with 10 previously unpublished poems that had been rejected by the original publisher, and a new poem. Janis took the opportunity afforded by her winning a Spoken Word Grammy to create this audiobook.
