I'm the one in the photograph
you painted yesterday
A high relief reflection

See me disappearing
like a shadow at high noon

like an outlaw on the dunes
Looking lost in the afternoon
Cool pretender,
with your poetry and blues
I remember what it cost just being you

Now the Tarot cards are numbered
and the deck is made of glass
The dealer's made a bargain with his soul
I thought I saw you trembling
as you threw it all away
Thought I saw you dancing
but the night had turned to day
