Default South Korean dates are cancelled

The South Korean dates have been cancelled, for reasons too numerous to go into here, but among them are failure to pay in a timely manner, failure to communicate for weeks at a time, failure to provide visas and/or work papers or information about same in a timely manner, false advertising (saying I will be appearing in places I have not agreed to appear in), and other breaches of contract too numerous to mention here.
My apologies to anyone who was planning to come to the shows because of my own participation in them. We have been trying to resolve this, in good faith, for months now. With the show dates less than 3 weeks away, we finally gave up on it this morning.
The Japan dates are still on, make no mistake! I've worked with those folks for decades, and have no problems with them!!
    Thanks,
    Janis

Sorry for fans in South Korea, and for you, too, Janis.
You must have been working so hard trying to make these concerts happen.
    Rock Japan instead!!

I'll drive my Korean-made car at half-staff. My sympathies for your personal frustration, Janis, and also to the fans in South Korea.

    Janis,

Sorry to hear working together with the Koreans who would arrange everything on their side didn't go well. And I am also sorry for the Korean fans. But I can so imagine that it is impossible to work like this.

Bummer Janis, but you know how sometimes things happen unknowingly for the best. I was reading this news story on the bus this morning, and thought that very thing. I'm sure South Korea is not a place you'd want to become sick overseas!

3 million poultry culled in S. Korea amid bird flu outbreaks

    2008-04-17

SEOUL, April 17 (Xinhua) -- The South Korean government said Thursday that 2.99 million chickens and ducks have been culled so far to prevent further spreading of the bird flu throughout the country.

Seven new suspected cases of bird flu outbreaks were reported to the government in the southwestern part of the country, which brought the total number of suspected and confirmed bird flu cases to 43 this year, the Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries said.

Among the 43 cased, 21 have tested positive for the avian influenza, the ministry said.

The government is under criticism as road blocks and check points used to limit movement and conduct decontamination around the affected area of bird flu have proven to be ineffective in preventing farmers and poultry merchants from transporting birds.

South Korea placed the whole of the country on alert over bird flu spreading on Wednesday.
