She turned the big 90 today... we had a surprise party for her and she LOVED it... it was so special and just so neat to see her and her friends sharing stories and sharing grandmas special day.... she is still so active... she bowls.... drives ( which is very scarey) and works in the yard.... hopefully I have her genes and will live a long life as she is doing..........so happy happy happy birthday my dear friend redjack....... from your newest pirate................... party on big guy...

Well, I know most of us here feel we're one big family, and we know all this teasing and flirting that's going on is just that.

However, as Janis has pointed out in her post in the now defunct "welcome, tommy" thread, there are guests reading the forums, and these guests may include minors who might take such teasing and flirting the wrong way (not to mention, have a wrong impression of the Janis Ian Message Board).

Just my two cents.

It must be a Piratething then, because I appear to be just as dense as you, Redjack. I might haven't read everything but I haven't seen anything offensive or inappropriately sexual since this new board is up. Or before that. I think everybody behaved according to what Janis asks of us.

Chet, your respons to Denise has been bugging me ever since I first read it. We all know the rules on this MB and most of us think they are very reasonable rules I am sure. Well, I do.

I also think it's right that Janis, John, Kimbe etc. monitor this MB. That's what you do when a lot of people visit your MB and you want to keep a certain civil behaviour on it intact and get rid of behaviour that is unwanted. Especially if your good name is connected with it, like Janis's is. It's only logical.

What I have trouble with is one visitor here telling the other one what is appropriate to post or not. I don't like reporting people (unless they are clearly crossing lines in a big way) or telling people off because according to my views they don't do the right thing. And I wouldn't like people doing it to me. I also find it very hard to see that you are doing it with Denise. She hasn't deserved that.

Of course everyone is free to give their opinion. But that's all that it is and all it should be. It is not 'The Rule'. I have trouble expressing what I mean in English and I really don't mean to be rude. But I hope you understand what I write.
