Considering the state of things lately, the stupid thing I do all the time is I get up out of bed in the morning/afternoon.

I watch TV news sometimes. And yesterday I went to the Fox web page.

Well . . .

Last week I banged the same elbow on the same doorframe not once, not twice, but three times! Mercifully it wasn't my “funny” bone (which must have been named by some masochist).

Well....I stay up too late when I know I have to get up very early. Then, the next morning I hit the snooze button too many times which results in me getting out the door late. Then I speed madly to work, for which I'm almost late. Repeat four more times until I reach the weekend....and then I get up early on Saturday when I don't have to, but at least I don't have to make like a fire drill to get out the door!

Thank goodness this was a one-time stupid thing, but I am posting it here since Razal asked about it in another thread and I didn’t want to hijack that one (or this one actually) but here it is nonetheless.

First of all, I must publicly apologize to Janis for it ever having happened. This is so embarrassing.

But anyway, the story goes like this. In 2004 I went to see Janis for the first time in Toronto and afterward at the meet & greet my “date” for the evening (and I use that term loosely) was having trouble getting a good shot of her and me together. So after he finally figured out how to use my camera properly, he said we should ask her for one more shot. However, by this time she was already talking with the next person in line and when I asked her she was not pleased, let’s just say.

If I hadn’t been so overwhelmed by the whole evening I would have not asked but I did, and I’ve regretted it ever since.

I'm sure she got over it and realized it wasn't your fault.

no matter how many times i check, when i first put on a t-shirt, i put it on backwards, if not also inside out

This doesn't happen every day (mercifully) but:

I spent part of last night with a group of people, among whom were two who have recently moved and another who is about to move (whose name is Scott, which will be important later). We spent quite some time swapping war stories and along the way it developed that each of us who had a recent move had the common experience of having ordered a roll of tape from the Postal Service and receiving an entire case of the stuff. Funny thing was that Scott kept saying he was worried about running out of tape, so we kept offering some of our surplus....I don't think he took it seriously.

As the gathering was breaking up for the night, somebody said: "hey Dave, we're having a housewarming party for Scott and he wants tape!" Whereupon, being a bit slap-happy, we began thinking of creative ways to deliver it--FedEx, semi-trailer, front end loader, etc. Finally, without thinking, I said "I've got it....we'll have it lowered by pallet from a helicopter--put a big yellow ribbon on it that says 'Scott's Tape'".

There was a long moment of silence, after which everyone either burst out laughing or began to groan. At that point I realized what I had said.

I still can't believe I said it. Actually.....I still can't believe I THOUGHT it.
