The old Match Game is being replayed on the Game Show Network. I saw it yesterday at 6:00am, what a hoot. Then googled and found this site. Would love to see this movie.

Geez....I can remember being in my early teens and falling prey to a zealous optician. People called me "Charles Nelson Reilly" for weeks until I seriously considered being blind over wearing those damned glasses. One day I had a bad fall on my bike and smashed the hell out of them, and mercifully, my parents bought me a new pair that were not nearly so conspicuous. Still have them, as it happens, though I can't remember the last time I wore them....

CNR was the best part of the match game, i loved his bickering with Brett Summers.

She has her own website www.brettsomers.com. She is now 82 and up until a couple of years ago was doing a one woman show.

thanks! Brett was such a piece of work, and the interview with Simon Doonan is a hoot!

I'd almost forgotten Brett Somers....never did know what made her a "celebrity". Then again, I still carry a torch for "Eight is Enough"'s Susan Richardson. A person who is not very much like her onscreen persona, apparently. I just sold an eBay item to one of her neighbors (one of those coincidences that only happen in real life) and got an earful.

So much for my adolescent dreams.....ah well. I will always remember "Susan Bradford" fondly.

that was such a cool show, my fmaily and i actually refer to any poersformer with a thin mic as a match game performer. CNR was so funny... it's it interesting how gay men were so popular back in the day ( dom delouise to name another, how about the jack benny routine ) because they had such interesting humor. i'll have to look for the old match game, sigh.. makes ya long for the lesuire suit days

I loved the Match Game. As a sheltered adolescent I learned a lot (sort of) from its corny sexual innuendo (yes, I was REALLY sheltered). I was thinking the other day about Brett Somers (honestly) and it's cool to see she has a new life as a cabaret artist -- proof positive that in the future we will all have our own "one woman show."

I catch it sometimes on GSN. I have always really liked game shows, and that was one of my favorites. A show from the 70s that I wish they would rerun is The Gong Show! I don't think I have ever seen reruns of it.
