The initial song in that thread is Sunshine on my Shoulders, and it reminded me of my 1st year teaching. For the spring concert, the 6th graders had learned that song, along with sign language. During the concert at one of my 2 schools, I noticed some commotion in a small group of boys. I gave them "the look" as I kept directing, and could see that some of them were trying very hard to not laugh. After the concert I gathered that small group to find out what had been going on. A couple of them looked rather sheepish, but one boy, who NEVER got into trouble, burst into tears and blubbered, "Mrs. Robinson (my name at the time), he was singing 'sunshine on my shoulders makes me sunburned!' " I nearly lost it! I had to keep my composure to mildly reprimand the guilty party, but I think of that episode every time I hear that song!

That was 30 years ago! I'm lucky if I can remember my own children! :D

But I do think I would remember our sweet Daniel if he were in one of my classes! ;)

If we're going to have a singalong I think I'd pay money to have Karen join in. And Dar--who will anyway, I'm sure.

By the way Dar, how are you doing on that Tonette?

Karen????

Are you certain that the children are yours.... You know how those Air Force types are... I'd blame Ned, and if not him Redjack....

Best to all

Ps.... You think Dee is sweet? Just ask all the neighbors he's driven out of his building with his quiet...
