Sanibel Island 3 19...anyone going?

I am SOOO excited that I will get to see Janis AGAIN within one year's time! Saw her in TPA last year, now got my little woman to agree to travel to Sanibel Island for a wonderful weekend to include seeing Janis on Friday, 3/19. Is anyone from the forum planning on attending? I noticed last year that several people seemed to meet and share a table...would love to meet other Janis fans in March. Let me know...hope to meet you there! Bev

Welcome to the board Bev. I think Greener and Elliott are planning on going. I'm sure there will be others. It's too far a drive for me but I'll just make the Stuart show. Oh yes, I remember it well. After Greener and I had a lovely dinner with Janis before the show, with Deb, her tour manager, we joined Kath of the Guitar, Dr. J, Luce, and a surprise guest from over yonder named Marjan. Then others started to appear.... What a great time was had. That was the first time I met Greener, then I moved from Texas to LA.... Oh, it's too long a story. Welcome..... ;)

We got our ticket! Third row center! And...failed to mention this before (shame on me!)...my partner, Lori, and I will be celebrating our 25th anniversary that night! Talk about a special event for a special event....

What's really cool about this gathering space and about the folks who hang out here is that there is real joy in just knowing that other Rudies are getting together for a good time, even when you can't go. How cool is that?

We didn't know it's spring break time! Good info.... Can NOT begin to tell you how freaken excited we are to be seeing Janis AGAIN on our 25th!!! The last time we saw Janis she talked about losing her mom....so touching. At that time my partner, Lori, was in the process of losing her mom (my "mother-in-law"). It was a year long battle. Lori's mom passed on 12/31/2009. We find that this is a time of healing and celebration for us. Strange mix of emotions. Seeing Janis again will bring some peace to each of us.
