I wish I was...I just can't get there in the middle of the work week from Virginia. Besides, I have a doctor's appointment on the 6th for a doctor I've been waiting to see for over three months now. It's the first available appointment I could get last October, end of September. I'm truly bummed I can't get there.

I hope as many Rudies can get there though...Represent us well you great klump!!! :)

January is not a good travel month for bean counters.
I'll be up to my eyeballs with work.

I'll be there in spirit though! Have fun!

I would give my eye teeth to be able to attend, but alas, I cannot.

I am saving my time and money for the New England run.....

As long as the weather is decent enough to drive, Verlann and I will be there. This is a fantastic deal. I will be a month post op and able to make the trip. Karen has graciously agreed to pick up our two youngest from school, spoil them, and return them to their teachers Thurs morning, despite the fact that is has been some time since she has seen the world at 6am and even longer since she has been with an 8 & 10 year old at that hour. (Hope I am not scaring you off, Karen...) Our oldest spends every Wed and Thurs overnight at her school in the residential program anyway, so the day works well for us. It is time for Verlann and me to have 24 hours sans children and to be busy about spoiling ourselves. Needless to say, we are most definitely looking forward to the show and would be delighted to meet up with any other Rudies who might find a way to make it happen. I really thought this would be one of those, "I'm gonna kick myself for missing that" opportunities and I had the biggest smile when Verlann thought so, too. Did I mention that she is almost always right? (Don't you dare tell her I said that!)

I've been checking flights to Nashville, still too steep and the drive is too far for a quick turnaround. Who knows, could happen. jm

Floating this to the top again.

Check out the price, $100 for two tickets. Compared to the cost of the Pearl LRC, quite a deal, yes? It also is a good way to support public radio/TV, a critical endeavor IMHO.

Think it over...

No Beth, I won't be there. It's too far for me to do a drive up and back the next day by myself, my knees wouldn't take it and even though I check airfare daily, it's not getting affordable. So you'll have to enjoy the concert for a bunch of us. jm

I just now dashed off an email to NPT. As of today we haven't yet received our tickets for the living room concert. Fortunately I DO have a confirmation email. I would feel better if I had tickets in hand though. Beth, have you received anything yet?

Janis if you read this, should we be concerned? Thanks!! Happy New Year!

Marcia (and Bat) :)

No, I haven't received anything via mail, but I also have the email confirmation. Honestly, I didn't even think to look for tickets by mail since I have the email.... With the Holidays, the mail is off anyway. I think we'll be fine, really. It's public radio/TV, good people generally and reasonable...

BTW, Marcia, do you know if the "meet n greet" time is before or after? We may drive part-way back but not if it means skipping part of the evening, afterall.

I actually went ahead and sent an email to NPT. They told me they mailed out tickets to me on 12-30. Also, I would be REALLY surprised if the "meet n greet" were anything BUT after the show. Janis needs the "before concert" time to concentrate/focus.

Looking forward to seeing you both!!

Marcia :)

Doors will be open at 6 for drinks/snacks. (I think these folks don't have any idea how long that can take...) "Show" at 6.30. Should run a couple of hours. Don't worry if you don't get your tickets, I'll vouch for all of you...

I'm very jealous!!! We West Coast fans need to pool our resources and get Janis to do one out here! I know a good time will be had by all! If I win the lotto and call in rich, I'll see you all there!

We expect a full report AND pictures, of course! Have fun!

I had planned to videotape the NPT concert. This past week I got out the video camera to tape my own music "happenings." The camera seems to have developed a "short". It will be fine one minute and the next you have no picture (you still have sound though). You can reset it by pushing in the focus button but it takes a minute or 3. I would be very disappointed bringing it and having that happen in the midst of Janis' concert. I hope there will be another Rudie there videotaping or that NPT will film this for later airing.....

Marcia,
I have a videocamera that I can bring if you would like to use it. I'll be glad to turn it over to you before the show, but I don't want to mess with it during the show. Also, I don't have a tripod. Its a Sony Handycam DCR-SR200, a few years old. You are welcome to use it and then take the stick with you. Let me know.
