View Full Version : Best Christmas Present EVER!

Went to see my surgeon for post-op followup report. He told me that the pathology report showed he removed all of the dregs of the tumor, none of which showed any viable living malignancy, and the margins of the lung were all clear and clean...
In otherwords, the radiation and chemo worked, there is no cancer left in my lungs, or anywhere else, and I'm well healed. I'm clear of malignancy, no signs of recurrence; lymph nodes are clear...looks like a complete cure.

I need to have monthly CAT scans for 2 years, then annually for 3 more, just for checking up.
I feel great, except for extreme fatigue which will eventually pass with increased mobility and exercise and good diet (no problem there!), can cough with no pain, no hurt anywhere, and extremely happy with the outcome of the treatments this past awful year.

A HUGE thank you to my beautiful doctors who saved my life, and to Marcia who has been there for me through the whole ordeal, and to my friends who have never stopped sending good vibes and prayers and healing thoughts.

Merry Christmas to all of us!:D
Hugs,
Bat

Let me be the first to say (well I -was- the first until Agnes sneaked in there ;) )

CONGRATULATIONS!

You're one of the lucky ones.

Now,... if you could send some of that luck out this way if you can spare it I and my friend Holly would be most appreciative. She's not doing well, but let's not dwell on that because this is YOUR day.

CONGRATULATIONS!

My very best thoughts coming to Holly. It is up to her to belive that her treatment will work as it should and to help it along. Faith in treatment does work...I certainly wish her the best outcome. If she doesn't think it is working, then she needs to say so and try another way, but never give up seeking...a cure is possible with the right combinations and belief!
Hugs, Paul and Holly,

You got that right, Dar! Sometimes I think it might be better to get a fatal disease than something chronic that has no identification and no cure, especially if there is more than one condition. Evidently, fatal they can cure.
I really want her to get better, too!

To say I'm happy for you would be wildly understated, but since words are all I have then it'll have to do. Big hugs to you, Bat.

What's better than an old Bat? An older Bat!

Such wonderful news....and we expect to hear from the older Bat regularly as the years pass.

Dear Bat,

I have been following your condition, and was touched how you handled this obstacle with such grace, and optimism.

You have warmed the heart with inspiration. I am so glad things turned out well for you.

May you and Marcia have a wonderful holiday.

You guys are wonderful, you know!
I just got back from the Kent/Elyria/Ann Arbor concerts, and that was really a lift, let me tell ya! Janis has never been so good nor so funny, it seemed to me...maybe I just have a fresh outlook on things, tho. She was better every show, and I still laugh at things I have heard many times...her delivery is so perfect, it demands response, usually a hearty guffaw.

And every time after the show, she said how glad she was that I made it through a tough time, and seemed happy to see me...that was worth the price of admission, too. She sure was selfish with her new dreidel, tho...said I had to be Jewish to play with it, and snatched it away.
So, Janis, I am Jewish...at least by Marriage! ...So now can I play with your dreidel?
Happy Hanukkah all!

Happy Hannukah to all...Shalom!
peace

why do i say Shalom, then peace, it's redundant right? well, not the way I learned it from my Catholic mom. She told me it means peace plus one thousand, peace plus joy, peace plus, good close family ties for generations. Peace plus. so Shalom,. and peace
