Hi all,
It has been a while and I am glad to be back! Forgive me if you all know of this allready but there is a great article on bootlegbetty.com about Bette, Janis and Janis' Autobiography. You need to scroll down a bit once you get to the site, but it is a pretty cool article from I believe the "New York Post" Also, on a side note if you are reading this Janis ( I know it is a day late and a dollar short) but I would suggest ( I realize it can be cost prohibitive ) but you may consider selecting 3 or 4 key locations around the country, perhaps one in L.A. one in New York etc. and get your New Black Butt on some Billboards. If I hadn't seen Bettes last two album ads in my face as I was driving along, I would never have known she even had a new release. Even for a week, if placed right, tens of thousands will see it. I know you have tons of lost fans out there that have no clue and would jump on the news. When you played Santa Monica Pier with Richie Havens you pulled in way over 10,000 people. This is an iron clad tried and true marketing tool that would give you the exposure and get the word out. Your label would be smart to back the idea and I believe it would more then pay for itself in the long run. I only wish I had a million dollars to get that going for you. We should start a "Janis Billboard fund raising campagne"sp.
