View Full Version : A Time For Thanksgiving
Three weeks ago our daughter and grandsons (7 months & 2 1/2 yrs) were in a violent car wreck that sent her car rolling three times before landing on its roof. Remarkably, they walked away seemingly uninjured and without a scratch. (I don't know about the guy who hit them.) But since she has endured 2 brain surgeries we have been awaiting MRI and results. With much thanks I can say that nothing was undone by the hit and that everything with the surgery is intact and spinal fluid is freely flowing.
It did show that she has two bulging discs in her neck area, likely the result of whiplash. While this is a troublesome and painful issue, it is hopefully one that can be dealt with over time and perhaps improve on its own.
This morning we sat down to breakfast with our daughter across the table, one grandson in a highchair and one grandson on my lap and I felt like the most fortunate woman in the world.
Wow, what a terrible accident...I'm so glad no permanent damage was done, but could have been horrriffic! You and they are all very lucky, indeed!
You will have a great thanksgiving this year, for sure!

Judy,
I am happy to hear that your daughter and grandchildren survived relatively unscathed. Just another reminder for all of us about how fragile life can be.

Judy, Wow! Rudie vibes to you and to your daughter and her two kids. I can't imagine the feeling you must have had this morning across the table from them. What a blessing, may you and they have many more.

Wow Judy, I just saw this! I hope everything turns out good for your daughter. I hope the children have gotten over the trauma of the accident. Terrible! Please keep us informed.
Thanks for the good thought, folks. Much appreciated.
The two year old is still showing some trauma.. the other day I had him in the car and when I stopped I told him I was going to get out and come around to get him out of his seat and as soon as I shut the door he started yelling "Out, Nana, Out!" He never previously did that as he would always stay absorbed in his books until you came to unlatch him. If this sort of thing continues the next step will be to look into play therapy.

Judy,
therapy is never a bad idea after something so traumatic. no one should have those memories, especially someone so young. and play therapy can help him work out the feelings these thoughts bring up in your grandson. I'm so glad they are physically healthy. they say kids bounce back easy too. best of luck and rudie vibes keep coming to all of you
peace
