Got a note from Janis last night and it looks like we are going to have another Fan Auction! Yippieeeeeeeee! I know many of you were waiting for this news so start searching, making, collecting items to post on the auction. Those who haven't heard of this , it is an auction run on the message board for anyone who reads it, fans donate items that live up to the level OF Janis Ian's character. Last year we had special Tee shirts, we had hats, and hand made bags and baskets, limited edition, hard to find albums, Music , articles, books. then there were items like cookies, a jar of smoke from the Janis Ian picnic hotel "fire" and Much , Much more .
All items will need to be approved before posting this year. So look hard, work hard and plan ahead. I'll have more news as soon as i get it. Look for a possible start date of somewhere around November 1st. all items must be ready before that date. thanks all Yippieeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
peace

I have been hoarding boxes of my mother's baskets just for this occaision.
This year, they will be even more special, since mom passed away in March.
I wish there were something I created on my own that I could contribute, but my creative juices have been at a low ebb of late. Maybe next year....

Amy, I know many people loved your mom's baskets and what a very special gift they are, and you sharing them makes them extra special. giving, is a creative gift, one many people lack. don't sell yourself short.

A wonderful opportunity to bid on and buy Janis goodies from other members on the board... ALL PROCEEDS GO TO THE PEARL FOUNDATION.... This auction runs somewhere near the same time as the WEBSITE HOLIDAY SALE!!! Sooooo Just so you know this is a good time to save up some pennies for both.... Last year Hoops did an outstanding job running the fan auction and it raised some huge figure that I've forgotten but well worth it...
Soooo Anyway.... Time to get a bit excited about this.... Oh, and BUMP, lets keep this near the top for a bit til the newbies have a chance to find out more about it.... Hoops, Thanks a zillion for your efforts last year and this....
Best

Elllllliot, I can think of two rudies that would love them, One has white hair and white beard, lives in California and hates shoes.... (Did you hear that EVA!!!!) The other one lives in the state of Virgina and probably owns as much of Janis's clothes as Janis owns....
And hey Elioooott, you could always bid on them.... again and again and again....
I know of four vinyl albums that will be auctioned off pending approval by the powers that be and autographs by Janis.... Who knows what other goodies will turn up.....
Betty threatened to auction me off but then changed her mind as she didn't want to have to make change for a dime....:(
Best to you and yours

Randy, I still listen to and enjoy the CD I got from you at the auction last year...great WDIY interview with Janis, great music, and even signed by Steve and Janis...
Who knows what new special Janis items will show up on the auction forum this year...actually I know of a few but I'm not sayin'...jm

Betty wouldn't have to make change. People use paypal and she could just ship you to the "winner", or highest bidder in UPS boxes. I just hope you don't go to all the king's horses and all of the King's men. They shoot horses don't they? Oh yes, BUMP!

I may be way off base here, but didn't Janis say she would auction a Rolex watch of hers? The jeweller had done a swap with another one for her or something. I never heard about it since; is there any chance this will be in the auction?

I usually am; at least not right... but I think the Rolex purchase was to be between the jeweler and a prospective buyer. I don't think Janis is involved in any way. My two sense worth anyway. I used to have more! :o
