I went to check out this week's auction offerings, and there was a sign and display about an auction that will be held on Oct. 14. You can check out what they have posted so far by going to www.christys.com and going down about 2/3 of the page. When I asked today, they said they were working on it, so I don't know if there will be more pics in the next couple of weeks. I think you'd be able to make online bids, or if there is one you know about and you'd want me to place a bid for you, let me know. There is a phone number for Christy's on the homepage, and I'm sure they'd answer any questions. However, I'd advise you to not call on a Wednesday, as that is auction day, and it's a madhouse around there, right, Wendy??

I dont' know how much help I would be, but feel free to email or PM me if you have any questions. I might even be able to get some pics.

Pick me up a hat.

WOW! Today they had a very old top hat made of some kind of skin/fur, complete with it's leather case. I have no idea how old it is, but it is OLD! I'm not going tomorrow, but I'd like to know how much $$ it fetches.

Top hats used to be made of beaver felt or beaver pelt...check these out:

Yup! That's what it was. The leather case was much like the ones listed.

I asked today about the guitar auction. Probably next week, there will be a detailed description of each instrument. There will also be a way to sign up to make proxy bids. I'll try to keep you informed. The guitar shop was down in Madison, IN -- it was not in the Indy area.
