Background about..Ginny the flying girl

Would anyone know any background info about Ginny the flying girl? I really love the lyrics and music.

I think Janis said that it was about a child of one of her friends. It was written for the "In Harmony 2" Childrens album for Sesame Street. As far as I know it was never released on CD. (until Sony gave Janis the master for the Autobiography set) I was lucky enough to find it in mint condition at a used record store many years back. I cried the first time I heard it!

Same here! The first time I heard it was Janis singing it live in St. Louis-this was before the new cd came out. What a thrill, I get goose bumps just thinking about it. And it remains one of my favorite Janis' songs. And my mother's name was Ginny, so that makes it extra special for me.

I remember searching for hours and hours for a clip of that song on the web and my efforts were in vain!
