Well, Noel, I'm planning on taking in the 2pm matinee performance of HAIR before I head down to the CityWinery. So, I guess I'll be getting in maybe sometime around 11:00-12:00-ish.... not quite sure yet, but I'll let you know. Yes, I must meet Anna, another new (to me) Rudie.

I'm staying at a hotel in Times Square South from Monday. A friend of mine from Nashville will be going back Wednesday afternoon, so I am flexible after that. If you want to call me to arrange meeting, the hotel number is: 212-542-8990. Full name is Anna McCabe.

Leaving for the USA in the morning so won't be checking the MB for a few days probably.

Looking forward to meeting you all.

I hope you all have a great time!

I was just in NYC for a couple days the weekend before last, so now I can picture what you mean by Time Square South.

Boy that truly is the city that doesn't sleep.

Anna, sorry to miss you on this trip stateside!

Well, Janis was wonderful - so what's new. She was in fine voice and good form - what more can you ask for? I can't remember the entire set list but here's what I recall:

Opened with Jesse.
Through the Years
Society's Child
Watercolours
Love Me Do
Silly Habits
The Come On
Autobiography
Married in London
My mother sing again
17
I got you babe - 1st encore with Christina Train
Stars - 2nd encore

Christina Train is a fabulous young singer. Her debut album "Spilt Milk" will be out October 20th - definitely worth a listen. Janis joined Christina and played lead guitar on the final song of her set - "Spilt Milk".

We all met Janis after the show and got quality hugs and our various items signed. We also got a group photo, taken by Bruce, that no doubt one of the others will post later.

I'm finalising my packing now and heading off to JFK early afternoon for my flight back home.

It was great to meet you all and thanks Janis for a fabulous evening.

Well, I'm finally awake after a good nights sleep, I didn't get home until 2:55 am.

What a nice venue CityWinery. It sort of reminded me of BB King's but with a more light and open feel to it. We arrived around 6 pm and we found Noel and Tracy seated at their table eating their dinner. They were two rows away, so after everyone was settled at our respective tables we got up and mingled to chit chat. Seated the row behind me at the front of the stage, was Anna McCabe. She was sitting there all alone so, we invited her over to our table to chat with my friend Sharon and myself. It was nice to finally put a face to the name. Safe travels back home, Anna.

Attached is a link to the photos from last night's show at CityWinery in NYC http://s251.photobucket.com/albums/gg317/Mary6906/Janis-CityWinery%20NYC%209-23-09/
Noel may post a few more. AND JENNY.... I took a photo for you, too! :D

Another fun night... thanks Janis.

Oh, and here's the set list, too.

Jesse
Through the Years
Society's Child
Silly Habits
My Autobiography
I Hear You Sing Again
Love Me Do - "an Old English Folk Song" :p
Watercolors
Married in London
at 17
I Got You Babe (duet w/Kristina Train) that was fun!
Stars

I think I might be missing a song, but I think that's all of them as I can remember ... correct me if I'm wrong, Janis. :)

Great pics! Love the psychedelic llama!

Janis sang "The Come On"??? How cool! I've never heard her do that at a show before. And I've never heard her sing "Stars" live either. I'll bet the room got extremely quiet during that tune.

Glad you all had a good time.

I see you all had a great night

Great setlist
Great gilet (brown looks good on you Janis)
Great glasses (very stylish Janis)
Great that you could be there too Anna. Dublin is quite a long way from NY.
Great pictures Mary

Question: were you there too Stephanie? If so: yay!
Question: did Hoops take... ehm... borrow that car in the end?
Question: is Bruce the same person as Steve? This is getting confusing...

I'm so glad you all had a great time. I knew you would. Anna, you can't be seen much in the picture, but there's not much of you to see! Wish I could have seen you to give you a hug!

Noel -- nice shirt! ;)

Thanks you Karen ;) i like that shirt too.
It was soooooooooooooooo good to finally meet Anna! she is a sweet heart of a person and I'm as pleased as can be that i took my chances and walked over to the thin red haired woman about four rows to my left, to ask if she was Anna. Of course is was great to see Mary and Sharon and Jeeney again too. The show was...well...I can't put it into words, it was THAT good. Janis somehow gets incredibly more talented, more skilled, funnier, lovelier and more gracious every time i see her. the things she did with her guitar...DANG!!!! I've never seen or heard stuff like that. She took us thru the full range of emotions over and over again. Ending with Stars was a bonus i never expected. I will post pics when i figure out how, lol new camera.
the car is nice huh? Sister rose, it ran like a lion after it's prey. I put it right back when i was done tho, cause it had a ticket on it and i wasn;t gonna pay. hee hee.
thank you all my rudies I love you

Anna! You look fabulous...at least the part of you that I can see.
I so glad that the procedure was such a great success!

Jenny, I think you may have to fight me for that vest!!
I love vests and that looks like it might be JUST my color.
Of course, it's probably too small for me, but it sure is great looking.

Where'd you get it Janis?

Great pictures! thanks for posting them Mary!!

Of course I knew it would be a great show! Aren't they all? Thanks for all the reports and pics. I really had intentions of being there but just couldn't pull it off. I wanted to meet Anna as much as I wanted to see Janis. ;) Maybe next trip I'll get to see you.

My Heavens, Anna!! I never would have recognized you if I passed you on the sidewalk!! You have really slimmed down to a sylph and you look wonderful. I do hope you have no trouble staying right where you want to be, and I think you must be there! Beautiful.
I just wish I could get your pictures to view larger than the thumbnails, but I get the idea. Glad you had a great time, and hope I get to see you at a concert one of these days!

When you went to my link, Bat, did you click on the photos? That should bring them up larger, and after you do that, if you have the mouse over the photo, at the top there is a "Zoom in" grey box. Here's the group shot anyway.

Hey it's good to see you all again. How are you doing Jeeney? And say Hi to your friend Sharon, Mary. Anna From Dublin, did you know there was a woman at the JanisMania posing as you and using your name?:D

All of us being flung around the world live for the photos. Thank you to the inventor of digital photos, and MARY, get yourself an extra battery. I always carry a charged spare. Anyway, how could you go to an event such as this with a flat battery. Okay, enough said.:D

All of you look absolutely fabulous...
For me, the show felt pretty good - given that I hadn't done a show in 5 weeks. There's not much you can do about that; your timing goes off. It's always a toss up! Do a lot of gigs, 5 days a week, and make the same amount of money you'll make doing weekends here and there but stay in shape... always a toss up.
I thought Kristina did a really good job. She was very intimidated, but I have to tell you that she was a complete pro from start to finish, as was her accompanist, Jack.
And of course, the support of all you folks means the absolute world to me.
Anna, even I almost didn't recognize you, except there was something about your smile on Watercolors that reminded me of Anna McCabe... I hope you're feeling as good as you look!

I have a question. Since I am so new, can someone point out the people in the picture? I know Janis of course, but who is who? That way when I finally get a chance to make it to a show, (don't know when) I can recognize people.

Thanks!
