Here Comes the Night (http://fooooo.com/w/e3969036127bff39c840bd1195af3130)

One of my favorites - I hope I get to hear Janis sing this again someday!

Janis sang this song at one of her performances at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville. It was great to hear it although I would have preferred it to be on piano rather than guitar but I'll take what I can get!

For those interested: Scott Zito on keyboards; John Crowder on Bass; and Artie Dixon on Drums. I always had a soft spot for Artie D. Great sense of humour. IMO Scott Zito was one of the best musicians Janis ever worked with.

Thanks for refreshing my memory on the names Anna. Yes Artie is cute! And John is kind of handsome. ;) I can't imagine any of these three saying he didn't like one of Janis' songs over the mike as she talked about in the book.

Janis has adapted this song to guitar quite well. I have really enjoyed it in live performance. I hope to hear Janis live again someday.......

I love that song too but unfortunately the sound quality on this live performance recording isn't very good. It almost fades away at one point and then picks up again. The studio version used in the film The Bell Jar is a lot better technically: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-ecNLc4ciA

Admittedly not great techical audio, but at Janis' preferred tempo. She was forced to play it fast for the studio album and never liked that version.

exactly Anna. and I like Janis's personal taste in tempo to be much more appealing.
