Holy S&^t! I love it. Actually teared up it was so beautiful and I guess just....unexpected. Do tell more.......What's the name of the song? Does Janis play any other songs? Does she appear in the movie in other scenes?

I don't know anything about the song. She doesn't appear in any others scenes, but she seems to do the whole soundtrack, which however I know nothing about either.

Four Rode Out - Part 1/9 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6E9ud4OR4o)
First 2:50 is the singing. Lips aren't in sync with the music but the video and audio quality is better.
I was wondering who the was doing the guitar playing further on in the clip and found the following:
With a soundtrack propelled by the mournful and minor-key acoustic guitar strumming of Janis Ian (who was then riding high on her hit “Society’s Child”), “Four Rode Out” actually is a pretty decent cinematic sojourn!

Roady, since this is a forgein movie, it looks like the song on yours was placed in instead of the one on the vhs tape that I transferred mine from, where the song and lips seem to sync. The soundtrack is good, but it's not a great movie, unfortunately, if anyone's thinking of buying it.

You can download it and another movie for 3.99 from http://www.eztakes.com/store/movie/Showdown-at-Williams-Creek-and-Four-Rode-Out-Movie-Download.jsp but you should be able to watch most of it for free from You Tube.

Thanks that makes sense-I couldn't figure out why yours was in sync and the one I posted wasn't. I hate it when the song + lips aren't in sync!
One of the songs is called "Last Time" - Found this on the page from the 1998 Online Auction: $30.00 - # 202 Handwritten final draft of Last Time (recorded for the film "Four Rode Out")

How very cool indeed, Kathleen! Thanks so much for sharing that link.
Wow - a rush to hear that sweet young voice again. Guess I'll need to listen to some Verve recordings today, eh? :)
Oh - not that the voice hasn't gotten sweeter over the years... just a little vocal flash-back, if you will.
