I just paid $28.43 for 9 gallons of gas here in sunny Northern California!

And that was at the "cheap" place with the "cheap" gas!

How would you like to pay 55.64 us dollars for 9 gallons of gas. That is what I have to pay here in my country.
I try to look at it as a "save the enviroment tax" When you pay this kind of money for the gas you try not to use the car as often.

My sock puppet says:

That is a lot! I use my car very rarely as it is! But the money is going somewhere even if I use BART or the Bus.

But you win! I'd look like this:   if I had to pay as much as you!

My sock puppet agrees!

Thanks for making me feel better!

I am appaulled at the price of everything out here!

In Vermont we are around 2.79 for a gallon of gasoline, and I bitch about it! We were up to 3.09 briefly last fall. We have no choice but to drive, as there is minimal public transportation available. There is a bus that goes from my village to work, but I would still have to fire up the car to go the 2 miles to get the bus. And it runs at unreliably odd times, especially in winter. Work is only 12 miles, and my dear dependable Honda CRV gets 25 miles to a gallon. This means a tank of gas lasts me close to 2 weeks.

I have been thinking about getting a motor scooter for summer commuting. Hard to justify another vehicle for just 4 months of the year tho.

Amy,
It costs me over FORTY DOLLARS to fill up my CRV. Gas under $3 is a distant memory.

And somewhere around $62.00 in the UK. (and that's allowing for the difference in the US and UK gallon)
