Book recommendation!

I've just finished what is, in my opinion, a truly great and very
underrated book, "The Art of Racing in the Rain" by Garth Stein:

It has about as much to do with racing as "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle
Maintenance" does about fixing motorcycles. I've read both. This beats
that older book, hands down. Way better. Inspired. An absolute "Must
Read" in my opinion.

Consider it added to this Rudie's list. I've long regarded "Zen...." as something of an icon (my personal copy has travelled everywhere with me and has nearly circled the globe--more than circled it in terms of miles), but if somebody can beat it....suits me just fine.

Gandalf: What a great recommendation. I was able to get The Art of Racing in the Rain and just finished it this morning. I have to say I love to read and I read a lot but it's been a while since a book has captured me as this one did. I'm not a particularly fast reader but this was a two-day read for me. I finished this morning before I did anything else...good thing it wasn't any longer because I had to meet Mom for brunch at 11:30! Thanks for recommending this book. jm
