I happened to turn on Game Show Network as I was folding some laundry, and they were just starting a "fastest finger" question on Who Wants to be a Millionaire? (rerun). The question had to do with numbers in song titles, and At 17 was one of them. Granted, it was just about the song title, and no references to those who had written them, but nice to see it, anyway. BTW, I got the correct answer!

I'm reading a biography on the Beatles right now. I know a a great deal about them (not near as much as I do about Janis), but all of their song lyrics too, ;) I wasn't aware, however, until now that "I Saw Her Standing There" was originally titled "Seventeen", McCartney changed the title later on. I can think of at least one song title that Janis and the Beatles have in common, who can guess? A Janis related prize from my vast collection goes to the first person to answer correctly.

Congratulations, Diver Boy! God job! E-mail me privately as to where to send your prize! I went through the play lists in my head last night to see if I could think of another one. I fell asleep at "Uncle Wonderful"! (much more fun than counting sheep) I don't think there are any others, but if anyone can think of any, I'll keep the game open to more answers!

I got stuck on "Yesterday/I Remember Yesterday"....oh well.
Can't offer a prize, but which song title does Janis have in common with both Rod Stewart and Bob Dylan?

Dylan and Neil Young, I think, but I don't think the Beatles had that title.

"From Me to You" is a song written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney and released by The Beatles as a single in 1963. The single was The Beatles' first number one in some of the United Kingdom charts, second in others, but failed to make an impact in the United States, a task left to The Beatles' later releases such as "She Loves You" and "I Want to Hold Your Hand", which launched the British invasion of America. It was one of the very last songs to be credited "McCartney/Lennon" — soon afterwards, their songs began appearing credited to "Lennon/McCartney".
"From Me to You" was partially hindered in America by a cover version which came out first. The alternative release was given much of the airplay, and peaked in the charts at ninety-six, although The Beatles did manage to sneak in at 116th as well. After the British invasion, "From Me to You" was released on the B-Side of a single featuring "Please Please Me" on the A-Side.

Yup...."Forever Young" was it. Maybe I made it too easy.
Tell you want....roughly a ton of kipple will shortly be on its way to my garage, there to be priced and hopefully sold. If you want to collect filled boxes and transport them to the garage, I will have absolutely no objection if some of them wind up in your vehicle.

I've got a whole box of DOS programming manuals.....also several on programming in BASIC. And desk lamps and blood pressure testers and various glass vases and sorts of stuff that turned out to be not what I thought it was.
Come to the sale....Janis will be on the stereo (which will not be for sale). And we might play some of her music, too.

Kathleen,
How about Standing in the Shadows of Love? That line is the Four Tops
song I know as I'll Be There.

I'm mixing my Four Tops memories; Standing in the Shadows of Love and Reach Out, I'll Be There are two separate songs. The Shadows line is not in the latter
song.
