A friend of mine is organizing a dog walk for NEADS - Dogs for Deaf and Disabled Americans. (http://www.neads.org/) She asked me to make a cd with doggy songs on it. So far we have four:
How Much is that Doggy in the Window?
Who Let the Dogs Out?
Nothing But a Hound Dog
Who Let the Dogs Out?

Any more ideas?

Thanks!!!

The Monkees -- Gonna Buy Me a Dog
The Beatles -- Hey Bulldog

Also, the song B-I-N-G-O (but I don't know who sang it)

Lyrics go:
There was a farmer who had a dog,
And Bingo was his name-O.
B-I-N-G-O!
B-I-N-G-O!
B-I-N-G-O!
And Bingo was his name-O.

Oh, also, an old song by Jim Reeves (I think) Ol' Tige <sp?>

Frequently, "google" knows more than I do, so I just asked it. Here's what it told me:

Dixie the Tiny Dog -- Peter Himmelman, The Musings of Someone
Old King -- Neil Young, Harvest Moon
Queenie's Song -- Guy Clark, The Dark
Lilly -- Pink Martini, Hang on Little Tomato

You guys are awesome! I found a lot of them on ITunes so will be able to purchase them there to make the cd. I'll have to ask if her plan is to use it for music to walk by or what. I think she should auction off a couple to make some $$$.

If you've still got some ideas, send away!

Luv you all,

Roady

Queen of the Rails (http://www.utahphillips.com/songbook/queenoftherails.html)

I know it was recorded by Orrin Starr and Gary Mehalik. Dunno who else.

If you can't find a download, let me know, I'll digitize it from LP for you.

I don't remember the artist, but there was a really sad song called "Shannon". It's about a dog that is swept out to sea. I remember the line "Maybe she'll find an island with a shady tree. Just like the one in our backyard". So so sad!
Does anyone remember the artist?

Barb:

Coincidentally, I happen to pick up a Utah Phillips Tribute CD today that has the Queen of the Rails on it. I will rip it and send it to you.
