Here's a letter I sent in February to Rollingstone. I have'nt heard back from them.
Janis Ian (Music Royalty) is still making vital music!
Dear RS, I notice that Rolling Stone mainly trys to keep up with the newer artists. I have been reading Rolling stone Magazine since the early seventies. I just wanted to let you know that Janis Ian (of "Society's Child", "At Seventeen")
fame has still been making vital music. Janis's newest cd "Folk is the new Black" is a great example of a great American singer/songwriter legend. Janis has been touring quite extensively for the last few years with a tremendous following. Janis was a pioneer with her early startup of her website (Janisian.com) and that mp3's on her site can be downloaded for free. Janis has one of the nicest website's of any artist I have seen. Janis is now 54 yrs. old and still making great music. My question is: Why doesn't Rolling Stone cover many of the older artists (like they used to do)? These older artists are the foundation of American music.
Many Thanks,
Rick from New York.
