Today is the day I go for my initial consultation for my new tooth implant. I don't understand why it is necessary to remove my existing tooth, and replace it with a screw in the jawbone and an artificial tooth on the surface. I have done research, and it seems pretty routine at this time, but scary to say the least. I know what some of have been through this year (including me), and it may seem silly to worry about a darn tooth, but I'm feeling very nervous. Please, wish me luck.... well, my ride is here. See you later. Love, Elliott

Hey, my friend, I'm with you. The dentist is scary at any age, so it's not silly at all. Sending you strength and love....

Good luck Elliott...turns out I need about 1/4 mouthful of the things (at least 5)...at $3000 a pop just the implant...not including the tooth that goes on it...I won't be getting them anytime soon...been without them for this long, oh well.

I hate going to the dentist too, Elliott. Let us know how things went.

It seems to me the biggest hurt from the dentist is the bill. Rudie vibes to you Elliott for your dental visit.

Sending Rudie Vibes to you Elliott. If you want to know about dental implants, ask "The Bat." She'll tell you all you ever wanted to know. ;)

I was just coming back to tell Elliott that Barb totally sings the praises of implants!

I hadn't been since dirt was new and needed a lot of work. Picked one from the phone book because he was close and insurance covered him. One little ouch.

But I am afraid of the dentists.

Thank goodness for good drugs!

Imagine how I felt when I went in to have all mine YANKED!

Actually it's one of the best things I ever did. My physical, mental, and emotional health is so much better now. :p I'm sure that yours will be too once everything is all done.

Oh Elliott. I send you blue skies to help you focus on nicer things than dentists and the work they are doing. These implants are really good though. I understood they are the next best thing from having your own teeth. Just think: when you're 80, your tooth will still be beautiful and very well useable. I bit like boobimplants...

Man, it seems like things happen fast when I'm around.... went for a consult and the next thing you know I'm picking up Rxs at Walgreens, and will be asleep at 7:00 am in the morning (Christmas Eve)! getting yanked and bonded. At least I won't have to worry about it for long, and I'll be asleep the whole time. It's quick; about an hour. Then I'll have no tooth for about two months. Then comes the inplant screw in about two months. Several months later, when everything is healed, I'll get my lifetime, guaranteed not to decay, (somebody think of a better word than denture or artificial tooth), and be good as new. And you guys are right about the price; it would be cheaper to feed a family of twelve for a few years than this is going to cost. Do you think Janis would start a Pearly White Foundation for her aging fans? I doubt it, but it was just a thought and barely hurt at all. Thank you all for your good wishes...... :D Love, Elliott

PS Do you think they will let me keep the old tooth? I'm already thinking about next years fan auction. The tooth could be like Rudegirl v.1 and see the world! We could ship it UPS, insure it for $1,000, and then file a claim because it fell out during shipping..... When I was in school to get a license (okay, beauty school) I used to keep a head in my freezer to freak out drunk guests. One day I was driving around with a garbage bag full of practice heads, and I kept hoping I would get pulled over for something, and the officer would check the trunk..... oh, youth. Life has been so good to me so far, and it just keeps getting better. I wonder what next year is going to bring.... I'm ready for it, bring it on!

Elliott, maybe you, or your artist friend, could make it into a cool necklace.... then you could auction that off and we could sent the necklace around and everone would wear it and take a photo with Elliott's Tooth!! :D

Maybe with an additional gift from Janis: The winner of this item gets two free toothbrushes and a waterpick, and a copy of her latest xrays.... soft food dinner for two or maybe a milkshake or juice. Janis could autograph the tooth (it's one of the big ones in back) and she could use it as a guitar pick. Why, the potential for making this a big ticket item next year are endless... I'd give my eye tooth to win that item..... :o Anybody got any gallstones, or maybe just some gauze Janis could use as a headband? And even though it's probably not legal in most states, we could exchange medications we no longer take for those we do. Oh course, we would probably have to have Dee handle that end from Canada.... I'm really hungry, but waited too long to eat before surgery. I'm off to bed.... I hope eveyone has a great holiday, and remember, hairspray and candles are not a good idea.... Where did that come from? Love, E and thank you Hoops, et al.

Elliott, we have Janis' "Billies Bones" ... How about we ask Dee for some of his creative lyrics for "Elliott's Tooth" :D

Actually, Mary, the FANGS are the only teeth in the upper story that are still my own...original equipment.

I have my gallstones from my cholecystectomy in 1984. They're BIG--about the size of a marble, but I don't think I want to auction them...

I went through a lot to get those suckers out of my belly and into a jar!

Why wait until next year? Sara bids $25. ;)

I'd give my eye tooth to win that item..... :o
Elliott, do you really want to give up more of your teeth? They don't grow back, you know . . . :p

I have some pain meds I don't need anymore. Any bids or items to barter? :D

Elliott, you're babbling non-sense. Now, you can blame that on the painmeds but I'm not buying it. But I like you anyway. More blue skies are coming your way.
