Well just a quick note to let you all know that its almost 5pm on Saturday and we are now safely home and Betty is already safely asleep... Our trip was great as always is the case when we go to attend Janis in concert.... Keeping this brief I will just pass along a bit...

As you all know that have enjoyed the "The experience" of traveling to see Janis, Jan, Deb and the other rudies is always a world class memory...Those that haven't done this yet I suggest you try it...

Our latest jaunt started at November 14th, Sellersville, Pa., just a scant 30 miles from home...A great show to say the very least... That and the company of Ginny (from this board) and brother George, an olde pharte but blooming Rudie we had a great time...Incidently the guest Host for the show that introduced Janis on stage was our very own friend and local interviewer from WDIY 88.1 Radio Steve Aaronson. (Steve may not know it but he is a budding rudie in the making... He speaks of the talent and personality of Janis much the same inspiration that the rest of us do. He informed me that since he interviewed Janis LIVE on the air he has replayed the interview in part and whole a couple times since August 4th... (The interview mentioned here is the one that the three copies on the auction board are of) Hows that for helping to promote Janis!!! Thank you Steve... Thank you WDIY 88.1 Lehigh Valley.... While there we ran into some people that were on vacation in New York and came down for the concert... Thats a bit of a ride... What a great evening... Oh... by the way This show was SOLD OUT!!!

November 15th, Betty dragged my worn and tired arse to the car and we headed down to Chatham, NJ... Just 60 miles from home... Not to far and this year there was no rain or fog like 2006...Yes it's true, I've been to church twice since 2006... Both times to see Janis and rudies... Another spectacular show...Guess who we found there.... Gemini & Nancy... Jersey Rudies oh and Mary from Connecticut with a New Yawker (soon to be rudie).... Also for the many old timers here on the board... Tina and Nancy showed up and Janis performed the song Tattoo at her request... What a great song, what a great performance... Oh and this show was SOLD OUT...

November 20th, just 333 miles from home we met friends of mine, Darrell & Debra who really were not into the music scene at all... I went to fourth grade with Darrell and had seen him once since the early 1960's... We went to dinner then out to the show... Janis and the staff could not have been nicer (as is always the case) Also at the show popped up some strange folks...(No Denise wasn't there... ) Roady, Amy from Vermont, Michelle (BGG) & Peanut... Well what can I say other then it was another great show filled with zillions of emotional people...All happy but never satisfied... After all one can never get enough Janis... Oh did I mention that the show was SOLD OUT???

Finally November 21st....Manchester Connecticut... True we hadn't planned on going to that one but the temptation was just to much when we had the chance... So our options were leave New Hampshire and drive home Friday hitting prime time traffic all the way on a Friday or drive to Manchester which is 1/3 of the way, then go to the show and drive the rest of the way Saturday... Well the show was sold out... But that never seems to deter us before so I asked if tickets could be wrangled and was told by Janis, Debra and Jan that it wouldn't be a problem... Soooooooo sneakily we struggled to find the venue after many wrong turns and ending up in all parts of Hartford we finally found the venues at night... (During the day it was easy)... Well walking in the door... I hear this voice and three of the house staff run over and say "Thats them!!!! They then grabbed us and dragged us in to VIP seating... Such special treatment... They even were asking how Betty felt... My word just like family... Well second row seated next to Roady and Mary I was informed that even our evil wizard & friend Gandalf was there Amy from Vermont was there as well... But hey (No Denise!!!!) Anyway another fabulous show... Wonderful rudies... Oh... Yes it was another SOLD OUT show....

DENISE WE MISSED YOU...

Janis, Deb, Jan... Betty and I thank you so much for such a great time and making us feel so well received... Darrel & his wife Debra also expressed their appreciation... You sure know how to make people feel welcome... You have it down to a science...Deb & Jan have a safe drive home.... Janis have a great vacation with Pat in Antartica hunting seals.... Oppppps sorry was that a secret...

And to all those rudies that we shared the pleasure of spending the past days with.... Thank you all... Your are all great.... To those that couldn't make it.... You were missed but well thought of..... I especially missed REDJACK and the SAXMAN...

Enough for now... My butt is dragging... I'm going to bed... Sleep well all

From both Betty and I... The very Best to you all

Randy, if that was 'brief', I'd hate to read a regular post from you!!!

Sounds like you had a wonderful tour...nothing like New England in the fall, prime color or not! Everyone was there, sounds like...I love the idea of all those 'sold out' houses, and your VIP treatment!!
Hope Betty has time to rest up a bit before you take her on another trek like that one!

Randy nd Betty, you've got me confused. Why would Janis and Pat be in Antartica hunting seals? Are they into wildlife photography? I can't really imagine them packing a couple of rifles. Very mysterious...

Hey David,

After all it is Summer in the Antarctica, and I think they would be shooting penguins:D You get 'em BGG.

If there is any truth at all in RandyPA's 'so-called' slip of the tongue, they would be using cameras to shoot with, not rifles:p

Oh my Randy .... it's sure nice to be missed but it would've been MUCH better to have been able to be there for sure!!!!
As it turns out, I truly believe that old saying that "things happen for a reason". The timing just wasn't right and as it turns out I would've had to be a no show anyway because of my dog.
Next time.....
Love to all.........

Randy and Betty,

It was a fantastic week-and seeing you both made it extra special. The Rudie connection is truly amazing - when you meet up it's like seeing a friend you've known for years and years. When we say "Isn't that Special?" we really mean it.

Looking forward to next year!
