Here's a little poem I'd like to share in honor of my Dad who inspired it.
Worm-turds
My Dad calls all the kids he likes
worm-turds.
They giggle-well, most of them-
hardly believing he said such a word.
A grown-up speaking naughty,
blowing raspberries in secret code,
thumb on the nose to rules.
"Nuhh-uhh,YOUR'E a worm-turd!"
Ah, the password.
A new member of the club.
The conspiracy thickens.
That night,
a half-washed plate crashes to the floor
as someone's mother hears
the secret word.

Oh, God, I can just see that mother's face, through these tears of laughter, anyway.
Well said,
Regards,

Hey, I was conned! I suspected a Monty Python theme to this thread. Nevertheless, good story.:D

Sorry you were misled Wildflower. I thought it an apt phrase to move past the "canned hunting" thread. Glad you and everyone else liked it. Thanks buckets.

Love the poem! (Or is it prose? I slept though THAT class!) I have to ask - what does your Dad call the children he dislikes? :p

But I think I like your dad... :D

Considering the amount of worms they put in McDonald's hamburgers, it might not be that inaccurate a nickname!

I heard worms contain lots of proteins. Just like grasshoppers, preying mantids, etc. Good grillmaterial, really.
