rest assureed
my newborn one
you'll have
all the lov
we two can give
rest assured

daddy's gone
my little one
never to come home
rest assured
that we can
make it on our own
rest assured

i'll keep you
safe from harm
my love
rest assured
you come crying
with scraped knee to me
i'll make it better
rest assures

i need to jobs
my child
to give us
all we need
rest assured
it's all out of love
for you
rest assured

you're growing so
you're off to school
you'll learn
all there is to know
rest assured
they'll teach you
everything this is
rest assured

you learn so fast
they can't keep up
the tell me
that you're ill
to give you a pill
just to sit still
rest assured
my dear
i know you're just
smarter than they know
rest assured
i know
they need to
let you fly
i know
rest assured

you'll make so many friends
my love
you'll be
a shining star
rest assured
i can see
you're heart is broken
as they walk away
because your skin
shines golden brown
and word you have 2 moms
has gotten around
rest assured
we'll find you
better friends
ones worth being around
rest assured

rest assured
my son
the world is good
has made it's peace
reast assured
the hatred is over
and the war
is about to end
rest assured

rest assured
my baby boy
you've brought me
only joy
rest assured
my love will
never leave you
my little child
you own
my heart and soul
rest assured
no matter how
old i grow

rest assured
i'll always love you
just as though
you were here
rest assured
my darling son
and
rest in peace

....this is so sad!

Is it something that you've experienced? No need to respond if this is personal.

well, to be honest, i wrote this yesterday, the 6th. i was driving home from work passed a place called "rest assured alarm systems" then i passed a cemetary and thought "rest in peace"
i found it interesting that the two phrases came just moments apart so i wrote them down. I came home and wrote again "rest assured" and thought "what happend between rest assured and rest in peace?" i let my hands write and this is what they wrote. it is not from my personal experience so much as from what i have observed others experiencing. i watch a lot. one of the mot difficult things is that i think very very quickly and my mind races and runs off in all different directions, so writing comes quickly and often messy. I never change what my hands have written, because i believe that is where they are led. thank you for your interest in this poem. i was crying by the time i finished writng it.
peace
