Can someone post how to get photos into a post? I've never accomplished it except by sending someone by link to look at my photobucket album. I'm afraid I won't be able to get the photos into my auction post.
Thanks,

Di and others...
I'm sure someone else can do a better job of explaining, but here's how I post pictures: (I'm on a Mac but I think the process is the same...if not Windows folks please help)
1. create a photobucket account (http://photobucket.com/) (it's free)
2. upload pictures (images or videos) into your account
*use the browse button to find the image or video on your computer
*hit the upload button
3. the video(s) or image(s) will come in and you'll see some onscreen directions. Add titles, descriptions and tags to images below
I usually click on "Save and Continue" which is below the image and takes me back to the album page and I see the image again.
OPTION: Now if you want you can click on the "edit" link above the image and make it smaller or do other modifications. If you leave it as is it will most likely come in large. If you decide to edit you'll be sent to another screen, do your work, then need to save it and return to the album.
4. Below the image in the album (you're either still there or you went to edit and returned) you'll see four options
Email & IM,
Direct Link,
HTML Code, and
IMG Code.
5. Click on IMG Code, you'll see "copied" flash by the code (it's a quick flash of a yellow box with copied inside on my screen)
6. Go to your post
I usually get the picture ready in photobucket then open a new tab on Firefox and go to the message board where I want to either start a new thread or reply to a post...I then can go back and forth between Photobucket and the board. If you start with the post then do all the photobucket things you may be asked to enter your password again and have to start over...been there done that
and paste (on Mac it's Apple V - for very sticky paste - I think it's control V on Windows) the IMG code will come into the post
7. Preview your post to see if the sucker came in
8. Now that the image is in you can continue to edit your post and when you're ready hit submit
I hope this helps, others please feel free to add info.

Hope it helps Di. If you're on Windows (I can't remember if you're on Mac or Windows) you may want to do a run through to make sure there aren't any differences. Now that you've brought it up, I'm going to go ahead and upload my pictures into Photobucket so they'll be ready on the 9th when we can post our items. (tip...you can upload them then do a fake post to preview to make sure they're coming in OK then delete the post.)

Joan...
Thank you so much...those directions were great and helped a lot to post my auction items. My only problem was that the pictures came out REALLY BIG! in my post and I wasn't sure how to make them smaller. Too late for the auction floor but I'll figure it out for next time.

Actually it isn't too late to make it smaller as long as you edit the same image since it will have the same code. I click the edit link then "resize" and take it to preset, medium. Then I click the button that says something like replace original. Another trick I use sometimes is to save a copy then paste the new code (which has a 1 after it) into the body of the post, I'm pretty sure you can do that by editting your post (although you may need to go to the advanced tab).
So...now you should be REALLY confused, but what the hey, big pictures are good too.

-di Both are consolidated into Item#3 now. Back to the size of the pictures...are you thinking they are too big and therefore there's too much Janis? Can there ever be too much Janis? Actually the large size lets us see the texture. I saw these in Pittsburgh, they're great! Di if you want to make the pictures smaller give me a call tonight and I'll "control tower" you through the process.

You know Hoops... You won't believe this (or maybe you wouldn't expect anything else) but I might be able to auction off a beautiful pair of (very) high heelded shoes... :o Only wore them twice, they are not wide enough for me. They are also a European size 36, so it's for people with small feet. Do you think that would be interesting to anyone? I'm not joking here by the way...

Eva, i truly think that may be something someone would want...BUT here is what i think...more people would be open to and available to bid IF these shoes were something extra extra special....precisely, autographed by the Legendary Pirate queen. Ii would love it if there were time to have Janis autograph them but ehh, what can you do. please don't post them until we discuss this further. tell me your thoughts
