Well here in CA, the battle against Proposition 8 is becoming more heated and unfortunately it is still very neck and neck. So Peggy and I decided we don't want to risk missing the opportunity, SO.........
This Wednesday October 29 we're going to make if official.
After sixteen years together we're getting married.

The Rudies wanna throw a big party for all of you! We'll put toilet paper on your penguins and tie tin cans behind your bicycles....or the other way around.

I remember seeing a film about those wedding night things when I was in junior high school. Folks got married, then they changed into ordinary clothes (the women always wore pill box hats for some reason....have you got yours, Dar and Peggy?) and got into a '55 Chevy which had stuff written all over it in shaving cream, and then they drove away. And the next thing....there were all these funny little things swimming around under microscopes, taking a mighty powerful interest in this thing that looked like a ball, but which the film said was an egg. You know, I couldn't eat breakfast for about a month after that.

I'm really glad I've never been married, as that whole wedding night business sounded like a lot of work and I don't think I'd enjoy being in black and white anyway. But perhaps they've improved it since my day. I sure do hope so, as I really am happy for everyone who's in love and I think they ought to get far more out of it than a '55 Chevy and having to squint through microscopes. Not to mention pill box hats.
