well here I am....... Since grandma passed away I have been the busy busy bee......I am now a legal homeowner of grandmas house... all the legal mum bo jum bo has been taken care of I have the deed to the house with MY name on it.... Both bedrooms have been painted, the living room and the dining room....all rooms are different colors and I must admit looks marvelous...done with MY two hands...what made the painting fun was since I am getting new carpet in the two bedrooms I was allowed to let paint fly and drip on the carpet and not worry about it.....the new carpet comes this friday for those two rooms. I am putting the final touches on the trim in the living room then nov 3 and 4 new hardwood floors are being laid down...Then I will take a short break and continue into the kitchen and bathroom...I have saved the hardest rooms for last.....during this process right much has happened....while tending to paying bills downtown I was leaving the parking lot and some idiot decided he needed to ram me in the passenger side and damage my car.....I came out the car arms flying and cussing up a storm.. he was driving a dodge ram 1500 truck ...all he managed to have was a scratch...and he precedes to say I am sorry ma'am I didn't see you... I don't quess you did since your damn truck towers over my saturn..... that idiot did $3000.00 worth of damage..... a rental car and a week later I got my car back.....mom is having a bunch of test done..... a mass was found on her kidneys and is now being lined up with a CT scan....so that is a bit of worry right now..... they also say once you become a homeowner everything starts breaking... it must be true..... grandmas tv died (quess it missed granny) oh that was bad of me.......had plumbing issues, the kitchen flourcent light died....and I know I am forgetting some things.... but all those things are fixable and my house is full of color and life and granny would love it....I had my yearly scan of my brain but haven't heard the results yet ( they are probally still trying to find my brain).......my new love life was short lived....that is another story......my tv station that I work at was the first in the area to go High definition and have gone through many changes..... but hey.... I AM A HOMEOWNER........slowly but surely progress is being made...and thank goodness I have friends that are plumbers, electricians, etc that can help me to keep cost down when things do go wrong......thanks for listening and that is the update for now..... grandma is definitely in the house as I can feel her and it makes things so comforting........
hugs all around.... JENNY

Thanks for the update, Jenny, and congrats on being a new homeowner and all the headaches that go along with it... but it's a nice feeling to have something your own.
Holy cow, Jenny! what a whirlwind you've been in lately. Your new home sounds like it's going to come together nicely and in the midst of all that you actually sound upbeat, so that's great. Crammed into all your news my attention did perk up when you mentioned your yearly brain scan...many positive thoughts for negative results on that. Also am hopeful for best results for your mother.
Do check back in when you are able as your absence was quite noticable.

Welcome to the joy and the hell that is homeownership! sounds like you are already making the place your very own, congrats!
Sounds wonderful, Jenny, and sounds like you are really having fun redoing the place, making it your own...wonderful! I know Grandma would approve!
Good luck with all the medical stuff...we've missed you, so do come back more often and tell us all about your latest improvements and hope the scans are negative for you, hope mom's mass is treatable and temporary!
Hugs and welcome back!

Some things to remember:
1. Never get a home owner's equity loan. If the house is yours, you can always find enough money to pay the taxes.
2. Change your air filters often; at least once a month, and by all means after any work is done in the house that causes dust to fly.
3. Any job is easy if you have the right tools.
4. Get a yard service.... it's so much cheaper than buying all the tools and machines, and your yard willl always look lovely.
5. Plant a tree on your property in honor of your grandmother....
Best wishes to you! Love, Elliott
