This bailout thing has really opened my eyes to the total corruption of Congress. I won't vote for anyone who supports it. Will be voting for Nader in November.

The important thing is that you'll be voting.

AGAIN.... if the contest turns out to be close then I'll vote one way (for defense unfortunately) but if it turns to be not so close then I fully intend to write in Kucinich. If trends continue the way they have been then I'll be doing the write-in routine.

Voting for "NONE OF THE ABOVE" would make a powerful statement....only trouble being that relatively few people would ever know about it.
Minnesota has gone Democratic in every election since WWII with the exception of Nixon in '72, so I make a point of voting for minor party candidates. To my mind, many of those organizations have ideas worth hearing, and should they gain enough votes to receive major party status and qualify for Federal campaign funds, we'll see some real choices on the ballot.
Do note that the Libertarian Party is on the ballot in all states and I believe has major party status. Several Libertarians have been elected, as have several people from the Independence Party, Jesse Ventura's brainchild. Votes for minor party candidates are definitely NOT "wasted".

-I- happen to like a lot of what libertarian Bob Barr has to say. Not everything, but I do like a lot of it.

I don't understand the voting process in the U.S., but wasn't one of the reasons that screwed the election and allowed George Dubbyah to get in, that people voted for Nader, or other independents. Surely anything to get the Republicans out is the answer, even if you have to vote for the Democrats. Do you really think that Nader has a possibility of becoming the president? Surely, if you can't stand Congress, the lesser evil would be better than leaving it open and allowing McCain/Palin to win.
By the way, I have just realised who Sarah Palin kinda reminds me of bless her heart. It is William H Macy playing the cars salesman in the movie Fargo, by heck. One of my favourite movies by gosh;) ;) What was it with the winks.:p

Bob Barr Libertarian.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, He's just more of the same, just running on the Libertarian ticket because his own party won't recognize or support him.... He's about as Libertarian and Libermann is a Democrat....

I'm very well aware of that fact. At least he believes in the Constitution rather than referring to it as a "god d@mned piece of paper" the way Bu$h did. He also wants us out of Iraq asap. And he also is against the bailout,... as am I. Let Wallstreet bail its own a$$ out and not foist it upon we of lesser economic stature.

As a small child I was taught that winking meant you were kidding around. It seems to be a Republican thing, Dubya does it, McCain does it, and now Palin does it. I honestly think their winking justifies in their minds that lying is okay as long as you wink.
For me what was even more scarier was after the debate Sarah allowing her young daughter (sorry I cannot figure out their names or which is which but she seemed to me to be around eight years old) carrying her baby down the steps. I seriously gasped, this woman has no sense as a mother to allow that.
I actually watched part of the US debate, while our Canadian one was going on at the same time. Did anyone notice the blink rate on that woman? I timed it and it was less than one second between most of the time. Disturbing.
How to tell if someone is lying
People may have many reasons for lying, but careful observers can spot deception simply by watching their eyes.
3. Excessive blinking and winking. Lying creates a lot of stress on the body. One of the most noticeable effects is a sudden increase in a dishonest person's blink rate. As the body goes through its efforts to destress itself, certain areas of the body may start to feel dry. For the same reasons some liars may lick their lips compulsively, others may blink their eyes in order to restore lubrication. Honest people don't experience these effects of stress, so their blink rate rarely changes. When determining if a speaker is being truthful or not, observe their blink rates before, during and after their speech.

You mean that annoying head twitch she's got? Can you imagine having to look at her for the next four years? Gawd . . .
One could give her the benefit of the doubt...I know I would have had the jitters if I were there, but then, I don't know anything about the details of politics....Oh, I forgot, neither does she....I guess she had the right to be jittery.

Maybe that's why, out of the blue (or red), she started chanting U!-S!-A!, U!-S!-A!, U!-S!-A!, after the debate. She kept repeating until the chant was taken up by those around her until it spread (like an insidious virus) to a greater and greater number in the crowd.
Now don't get me wrong. I have hopes for America. I am grateful my grandparents made the sacrifices they did to create a better life here. I just don't think a national debate by the VP candidates is the appropriate venue for unabashed CHEERLEADING!! I was embarrassed for her and for those around her! Appalling!
Sara - when she started that U-S-A thing I immediately said "What the hell?" and my partner peered over the top of her newspaper and said "she was a cheerleader, you know..a girl just can't change that overnight."

I really don't know what to do.... so I'm going to write in Janis and Pat on an early vote, and then I'm off to Puerto Rico for a week while the fun hits the fan back in the good old USA. True story.

Wendy, you understand it completely! You're dead on!
But she reminds me of Anita Bryant! In more ways than one! FRIGHTENING!

Oh, Kath....you must never speak that name around decent people....
Then again, perhaps a day without Sarah Palin WOULD be like a day without sunshine.

DaveM, wouldn't it be the other way around?
I should think so Sara. The sun is brightly shining here and there are no lame cheerleaders around for miles.
