Recently, Al Franken has been edging incumbent Republican Senator Norm Coleman in Minnesota polls. Much like Obama, Al has been running on issues, and Norm has been running on smears. Unlike Obama, Al has chosen to fight back by getting more personal in his ads, but they are still basically about the facts. Coleman has sunk to a "na-na, na-na, poo-poo" attitude now by simply archiving video clips. One is actually from a book-on-tape, and not from a public setting. I know some will easily be alarmed by the material, but oddly enough it only made me like Al more. It goes to show he's not just a wimpish bookworm like meathead repubs may claim, but rather he is a passionate fighter. Even though Al is responsible for his past coming back to bite him, I still find this to be a line you don't cross. It's like, "oh he's right on the issues, but...but...look! He swears, he's unfit!"
"God" help us...

People will, it seems, believe anything negative that is said about "someone else". Note the presumption of guilt by most of the public whenever someone is arrested. And more importantly, the sort of things that people will swallow if they are said about a political candidate.

Part of the problem, in my opinion, is that no one feels any personal connection to anyone in government any more (and I have no idea how that could change). So, people without question believe the worst sort of innuendoes about a politician that would have them taking to the streets were the same garbage aimed at them or someone of their acquaintance.

Has anyone seen the "Obama Waffles" site? Brought to you by the good people of Franklin, Tennessee, which, the site fails to notice, is more frequently noted for certain other historical events.

Will add that the same comments coming out of the mouth of Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh would be regarded as above reproach.
