Well, OK, I didn't actually SEE them...
They called this morning to let me know they are in Indy. We had sort-of planned to get together while they are here, but I did not know at the time that we would be leaving for Chicago today. Mr. Karensews2 has business in Chicago tomorrow and Thurs, so we have to head up that way this evening. Anyway, Randy wanted me to post that they have arrived and have no internet connection. They will go to Chicago on Thursday.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Thursday. I hope Marcia gets over her "yuckies" by then!

I suppose I should thank Randy and Betty for bringing some sunshine to central Hoosierland!

Karen, it's really strange. After 5 days of no fever, the fever returned yesterday. Never had anything like this. Started on heavy-duty antibiotics and am feeling pretty lousy.

Somehow, some WAY I MUST make it to Chicago. I will not be contagious so you won't have to worry about that. Am taking the antibiotics they give for Anthrax....talk about powerful! I feel like I am about to fall over....which is not good since I am at work.

Needing healing Rudie thoughts for Chicago and Cedarburg!!!

So when we get home from Wisconsin, there is a message on our answering machine. Several messages. One is from my doctor's office warning me that the HEALTH DEPT. may be calling me. Seems the lab HAD to call them because the "bug" I had is considered to be an infectious disease! NEVER have I EVER dealt with something like this before. Sure enough the health department DID call and asked me to return their call. I can't get back to them until Monday morning. Now I have no IDEA what they will ask me. Where were you the past 2 weeks? Geez. And yes I would LOVE to know where I caught this thing. However, I work in hospitals for a living....3 of them. Who knows WHO touched a computer or printer I am about to repair? Did they have dirty gloves on from doing lab work? Did I come in contact with an infected patient? Did I get it from an infected worker at one of the hospital cafeterias? I hate to say it, but I think it is highly possible......you know what they say about hospital food!! I'll let ya know tomorrow what the health dept had to say.

Yes, I hijacked this topic about Randy and Betty. So let me get it back on track!

We spent a couple of fun days (off and on) with Randy and Betty. That was when they were not looking for American Legion posts or White Castle restaurants!! LOL I think Randy was in seventh heaven with all of the White Castles. I did my best not to stand too close to him. ;)
That guy is really a kick. We've met before and he never ceases to amaze me. And yes, he did have his infamous "red binder" in tow.

Randy and Betty are filled with love, oil , vinagar and spices ! I love them very much. I had more fun in the seventies than Randy and I remember most of what I did.....Suzanne:p

I 'll bet Randy had something to do with that.. No one knows the evil that man is capable of despite my best attempts at warning y'all. !! :D

Yup Marcia... Thats how it started for me also... One day I was a clean cut American Youth, just enjoying the sunshine and then a simple cough... followed by another cough and a choke.... Then my hair grew long and beard suddenly appeared and soon people started calling me Randy from Pa.... Next thing ya know I was an old Rudie.... Filled with aches and pains....

Alas Marcia, if Redjack starts calling you Randy from Pa II, you know your in trouble.... But our prayers and best wishes to you regardless... We will still accept you...

Gosh, y'all resurrected an ANCIENT thread! Yikes, I'd like to forget all about it! And Randy....I'm ok with long hair but the beard is another matter entirely.

By the way, I did figure out that I had a bad batch of liver and onions (chicken liver to be exact). One needs to trust one's instincts and not give in to feeling like they HAVE to eat something if it doesn't taste right. Never EVER again!!

Mmmmmm... chickenliver... Very nice in soup. Together with hearts and stomaches. Bit chewy, but if you cook it long enough it's quite tasty. And cheap! The brains and that red stuff at the top of a chicken / rooster head are tasty too. But they don't sell it in stores. My grandmother cooked everything in her soups. Even the feet. Lovely soups. Yum!

My computer was frozen, and it is really hot ouside but it responded well to defrag. Randy tought me everything I know about defrag. He is a computer genius. Betty is just very very bright in every aspect of her life. They are wonderful and when they arrive the sun shines even in the rain. You folks are lucky. You had a Randy and Betty sighting and I really need one. Life is full of fun.

The chicken that went into the soup was her own chicken. She caught, killed and cooked it herself. And why waste anything if one kills an animal? What is the use of that? Therefor she used everything.

The liver, stomache, heart etc. soup is my creation, by the way. Not hers. Very healthy parts of meat. But it does sound somewhat disgusting. I agree with you there. Sorry for grossing you out.
