happy birthday to you. This was my mom's favorite song in the world. on any of our birthdays she would wake us singing with a smile that overflowed with love. She would sing it all day long and deliver it withhugs and kisses. even as adults she would call us where ever we might be at about 6:30 am just to sing to us. Mom loved birthdays, they were the most important days of the year for her, the days God gifted her with her "miracles"
her own birthday was special to her too, it was the only day she really believed that she should be celebrated...it was the day God chose for her to live...what greater gift... following her incredible lead, we would sing to her from morning to night, flowing with love, laughter and joy. she gave us so much more than we could ever give her and the gifts we bought or made, even if they were weeds that we'd pulled up and accidently crushed them in our hand in our excitement to deliver them to her paled in comparison to the gift of life that we were to her. she loved them all, but mostly the gift of life and love.
mom would sing along with us on here birthday, i can still remember the light that radiated from her as she sang "happy birthday to me" Mom would have been 70 years old this past sunday, tho she told us that she was 17 and that is how we knew her and know her...to be 17. we had a birthday party for her, but, as things do, some things got jumbled a bit and happy birthday was not sung. i tried to make this point known, but i have a large family and as loud as my voice can get, sometimes it's just not enough. i sang my mom happy birthday while looking at her picture which i keep next to my bed, i sang it in the morning and that night. I owe her so much more, i love her so much more and i know she loves all of us so much more. happy birthday to you mom
peace
Noel

It must have been wonderful to be one of her little 'miracles', Hoops! Such a loving and wonderful woman must have been a great mom...you are so lucky to have had her...just sing all day long and know she probably is listening.;)

You made my day with this post, Noel. However crappy this day may become, you've reminded me of the important things; love, memories, happiness, people that matter. Thank you.

Happy birthday to your Mum!

Here you go folks, " A very merry un-birthday to you, (yes you)" from the mad Hatter's Teaparty from Alice in Wonderland. This is for all of us whose birthdays are NOT today :) :p

OK, joking apart

Noel, thinking of your mother on her birthday is a very special thing to do. I always think of my mother and miss her on her birthday too. I still don't know why, but I don't need to wait for her birthday to think of her, as she is first in my thoughts all the time.... The picture is not as she was a year before she died, but as a happy woman with my father by her side. May your mother (and mine) and everyone else's mother, who is not alive today, rest in perfect peace.

Love Annabel x

I am really touched by your post, Noel. You have dropped a beautiful stone that is rippling good all around. I come from a big family and figured out that my parents sang that song to us kids 144 times, if they only sang it once to each child on his/her birthday. They are both still living. I think I will give them a call...
