Day before yesterday I got a perm. 1st one in over 7 years. This morning when I got up, looked in the mirror, I was a replica of the Rude Girl logo! Either that, or a fat Art Garfunkel!
Fortunately, it is somewhat under control at the moment!

Keep it under your hat, but perms are on the way back into style.... This does not make me happy. Of course, I never thought bell bottem pants would come back, and they did. Personally, I'm buying all the stock I can get in blue eyeshadow and 'Bonnie Bell Dr Pepper Lip Smacker Lip Gloss'. I'm holding my breath for Jovan Musk Oil to be hip again too. In fact, I still have a bottle... It takes me back to high school. If only 'Gee, Your Hair Smells Terrific' would make a come back, I would die a happy man! Does anyone think Ford will start making the Pinto again?

Yes, Karen, we all want to see!!!
I remember those perm days.... I haven't had one in years.
Brings back bad memories of home perms from my mom when I was little kid... http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/cool15.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org/)
And, Elliot, I LOVE Jovan Musk.... still use it to this day ... Oh the memories!

Karen got a perm....in 2006! She might still get them though. But I think she is probably too busy recovering from hip replacement surgery to worry about her hair!!!!

You don't mean to suggest that....Janis and Art Garfunkel were separated at birth?

Funny you should say that, Dave. Perhaps just the same stylist?;) see below

Don't worry Karen, we'll wait patiently while you figure out how to work that thing. <--Hehe, that's me not noticing the date of the post.
:D
We want to see this hair.
I actually had some fun with my hair recently. I found out the hard way that if I sleep on it funny after having it wet (I normally go to bed with my hair wet, but I throw it over the pillow above my head and don't move all night), it kinks and curls and does awful things behind my back. I was horrified. My perpetually uncurly hair had about twenty kinks in it that made it look like curls come out wrong. <--Yeah, and that was this year. I'll admit it.
Over twenty inches of annoyingness. That's what my hair is. I question why I still love it so much as to keep it this long and want it longer.

P.S. And Hoops, if that makes you lesbian, what does that make me? Oh nevermind. I say the same thing about guys I like. Just confused, I suppose. Actually, I wish you guys could see my most recent crush... His hair is oddly familiar with that picture, in a way... Thouth in a more red color.

song,
i wish i could go over the entire rule book on "being a lesbian" but it's a very large book. when we meet at the Jan-nic, i will show you the secret hand signal. there is one thing i must tell you about the book, it is top secret, so secret, in fact, that many lesbians don't know these rules exist. i know i was in a room with about 50 lesbians today and only about 1/2 of them knew the rules. one of which is all lesbians have had in their lifetime short hair, most, very short. i hope this helps.

PS... i am so kidding!
be sure and clue me in when you write the rulebook, Hoops!
...and as far as perms go, I can still remember the agony of ammonia fumes on my delicate mucous nasal membranes...I think it permanently kinked my bronchial tubes while it was at it. Arrrrrgh!
I will never have my hair long again, nor will I ever get another perm as long as I'm extant!!!...I was born to be butch!

Y'all just crack me up! Terrie, LOVE the look! ;) I never had a dashiki (sp?)of my very own!
Eva, I'M BAAAACK!!
Yeah, that perm was over 2 years ago, and I haven't had one since. My needs for my hair right now are simple. Shampoo! And now that I can take a shower...!:)
hoops, I think DaveM has a copy of "The Rules." hahaha!

I've been advised of some of the rules, folks, but was never taught the secret handshake. Apparently that is never shared with those of mere honorary status.
