Restless Eyes / shameless plug

I was wondering: what singles were released from Restless Eyes in what markets? And did any of them chart? I just got done listening to Restless Eyes for the first time in forever, and it was like revisiting an old friend.

BTW on my web-blog on my Myspace, I've started keeping a weekly what I've listened to list - no small feat to keep track of all that. To make this Janis related: last week when I was reading the biography, I listened to so much Janis my partner Patrick was about to hide my boombox :eek:

In the UK "I Remember Yesterday" was a single but didn't chart.

I'm not sure but I think "Passion Play" would have been a great single.

I was too far away for that, but I love the whole of Restless Eyes. That album along with so many of the others is a firm and unrelenting favourite of mine :)

Here in the United States, "Under The Covers" was the single release from "Restless Eyes". It peaked at #71 on the Billboard Top 100 chart in 1981. It was the first charting song on that chart for Janis since "At Seventeen" in 1975.

Underrated album -- great variety of genres of songs -- pop ("Get Ready To Roll"), jazz ("I Believe I'm Myself Again"), country ("Sugar Mountain"), ballads ("Restless Eyes") and the prophetic song ("Bigger Than Real"). Really enjoyed that work.

Under the covers was definitely the single cut. Wasn't there a censoring beep obscuring an "obscene" word or something?

I've wondered for many years now what word they beeped in 1981 -- "belly"???
