I got a call from my friend who was at last night's concert as she was driving home. She hadn't heard Janis in 30 some years and had taken a friend along who had never heard Janis. They put the phone on speaker and were going full speed about what a great concert it was for over a half hour. They mentioned the following:
The venue, The Old Towne School of Folk Music, has super acoustics, was very intimate, and you could hear a pin drop as everyone was hanging on every word Janis said and sang. It was sold out and the line afterward was huge. (They were lucky enough to get toward the front and said Janis was very gracious...)
The songs they couldn't remember all but mentioned
Silly Habits ("hot guitar part", my friend teaches guitar and piano)
Jesse
I Hear You Sing Again
Married in London
Joy
Janis looked and sounded great but said she'd had a long day. They loved her as a story teller as well as a singer.
That's all I can remember from a phone call that came in after midnight. So...Chicago Rudies...fill in the blanks for us.
