I just finished reading Janis's autobiography and what a great book. Wow. Terrific, everything I hoped for and even more. I do have a question though. I read in their that Janis had sold her songs to get some money, and my question is does Janis own all of her songs now? Did she buy them back? I hope I'm not prying or something, that was just one little loose end I wanted to find out about.

I don't think she did buy them back. I could be wrong, but I don't think so. I think Janis made her peace with that sale and just moved on.

Anna, i believe you ar correct. i believe such songs as "at seventeen" Society's child and others of her older works belong to the rcord companies, tho they were happy to share for her autobiagraphy project since the music business is having a rough time at this time. i think Janis has come to terms with it, i also think that she had little choice but too sell some of here songs so that she could survive.
