* Aug 4, 2008 An additional note from Janis: As of the weekend my book and CD were released, Amazon.com have managed to list the CD as, variously, "out of print," "out of stock," and "unavailable." People who pre-ordered it received e-mails saying it wasn't available. People who complained received e-mails saying they should try used CD stores. I can't get a human being to talk to me there. At this point, having complained and complained, I've given up. I recommend that anyone wanting the CD purchase it here, and I also recommend you all support independent bookstores as much as possible. At least that way, a live person will deal with your complaint.

Oh, and anyone wanting to post a review of the CD that tells people it's available here is welcome to do so at Amazon...

Don't tell me that it has really sold out that fast?!! ...it would be wonderful if it had, but I'd really love to see the numbers on that.

I had a problem with amazon trying to update my credit card. I kept getting boticed that my card wasn't good and my order (the book, which had been re-ordered since what seems like the beginning of time) would not be sent.

After countless emails, and looking for a phone number to call, i got nothing but frustrated. I guess my new card took in time, because the book was sent.

It sounds like one hand doesn't know what the other is doing over there at Yahoo! Who bought it, and what are they planning to do with it, run it into the ground with screwups like these and take a tax loss? I certainly hope not, as it is (or was) a great company.

It just sounds like Amazon is a mess right now, and there has to be some reason for it...but with the economy being what it is, I would think it would be delighted to make a few more sales.

I went over to Amazon.com and it now shows BOJI as in stock. It even added to my shopping cart...I tried just to make sure that it would. I just wish that they would put it at the top of Janis' cd page instead of buried on page 3. And I agree it should show it being paired with "Society's Child." It only recommended I buy the book when I selected the cd for purchase....well, at LEAST it did THAT! They are slow over there but looks like the message finally got through!

Since I had cancelled my original order of 2 copies due to the delay, and ordered one here, I just went and ordered a second there.

I ultimately got the first set via Barnes & Noble's website - which didn't have the same issues as the Amazon problem. http://www.bn.com I used my member discount and got free shipping, but it took a touch longer then I would have liked.

I have ultimately made up my mind though when I buy the book/cd set as a gift for my mother, I'm doing it via Janis' webstore. I've ordered from her webstore in the past, and never any issues whatsoever :) which is a tribute to Janis and her hard-working staff.

I posted a review at Amazon, but they wouldn't let me mention this web site specifically; but I would hope that anyone reading the 'review' would be able to Google Janis Ian and get it.

My review is up and includes the web site address. At least it did as of last night....

Hopefully Amazon will sort this out shortly. For the moment, I can easioly imagine someone saying "but the computer says...." The person who can actually touch the sacred computer must be on vacation.

I don't know what is going on....but God and the F.B.I. must be some wrinkly old man-----to quote Paris Hilton---I'm headed to the Amazon...LOL!

Is this site fully stocked and ready to ship CDs ?
If so--Fans should order here. ---it only makes sense / cents.

I ordered on the 31st--received confirmation that day--plus a shipping notification on the 1st --this is for the CD. They haven't arrived -- but I'm sure by the end of the week they will.
