Need Rudie Vibes Please

I have resisted asking for them for a long time. I don't know why. Anyway, I've been dealing with chronic illness for way too long now. I kind of figured I wouldn't make it to Pittsburgh but not for THIS reason. I have Meniere's Disease, an inner ear disorder. At its worst it causes the head to spin severely. I haven't had an "attack" in 22 years so NATURALLY it started about 3 weeks ago. My other 2 previous attacks were in 1976 and 86...the first lasted most of the summer and the 2nd lasted at least 6 weeks. I can barely sit here to type. I need this to STOP!

So anyway, Bat called me this afternoon and said someone wanted to talk to me. It was JANIS who was so sweet (of course) and sent me love and encouragement. Bat passed around the phone and I got to speak to several Rudies. It was special. They are all having a wonderful time. I will let the attendees tell you about it when they get back on here.

So I've got lots of vibes coming at me from Pittsburgh today and am asking for as many and as much as you can spare. I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Marcia, you and Bat are always in our thoughts and prayers. Hope you're feeling better just reading all these wishes. Hope you'll have some serious conversations w/ MDs. My understanding is that there is a lot of research going on w/ regard to Meniere's. You might want to check out the newer treatments (if you aren't already). Get better soon, being dizzy and sick is no way to go through life.

I want to thank everyone and ask for the contiued vibes. They really DO help! Thanks Annabell for the link. It is one weird condition. Mine is somewhat different than the way they describe it in that when I get it it STAYS for weeks at a time before mysteriously going away. They describe attacks lasting up to 24 hours. Leave it to me to get something that lasts 24 (or 48 or more) days at a time.

I just got a note from short-term disibility that they will pay my claim...until the end of NEXT week. Apparently they know something I don't.

Ironically through it all, this is NOT the condition that has been constantly plagueing me for the past 2 years. I had an accident that damaged a pelvic nerve causing a neuropathy....VERY painful and VERY difficult to treat or get rid of. If stress from another illness can cause the onset of Meniere's, I have to say that stress from the pain and frustration of the neuropathy caused my dizziness. I was in so much pain in St. Louis at and especially the day after Janis' gig. I will be in treatment for that condition for a very long time apparently. That has been more of a constant in my life since JanNic 1 in 2006. Only then I didn't know what it was.....sigh. I'm in the prime of my life...I think! I just want to get back to it.

I guess I'm asking for more vibes. Been getting worse the last couple of days. The first anti-dizziness medication gave me a terrible rash. The next one worked but caused nausea. It's supposed to do the OPPOSITE of that! I have always had a hard time finding meds I can take. Now I REALLY need something. I have a call in to my doctor. I hope he can find something. My head keeps flopping over to the left. I keep waking up dizzy during the night and trying to find a position for my head to make me less dizzy. I worry about holding on to my job. Short-term disability wants to stop paying me at the end of next week and they haven't even paid me yet. HELP!

marcia, i can't imagine the horror of feeling that....it kind of reminds me when i used to get panic attacks and my whole world would go dizzy and crazy for a minute....but to have that constantly, it must truly be a horror....i hope they find something to settle that...and if they deny you short-term, apply for long-term....i'm sure something will work out.
