Dear Janis, I just wanted to congratulate you on such a touching, well-written autobiography. I drove about 50 miles to the nearest Borders that I thought would have it and found both the book and the new CDs. Am already half my way through the book and it is truly riveting! And I love it that two of my absolute favorites of your songs, Haven't I Got Eyes and This Train Still Runs made the Autobiography Collection!
My partner Kyle and I were lucky enough to meet you at the Shenandoah Valley Music Festival in Orkney Springs a couple of summers ago. You were gracious enough to sign our programs. I was the one who gave you the framed poem that I had written for you, Kyle was the cute one with the great personality!
This year's Birchmere show will be the only show of yours that I will not have attended since 1993 (Breaking Silence) tour. I had brain surgery for Parkinson's disease back in September and have pretty much used up all my sick and vacation time on DBS tune-ups. But I hope to see another show of yours as soon as January rolls around and my sick/vacation time begins anew.
You have a wonderful online community here, lots of caring folks and I am glad I finally convinced myself to become a member. Your music has changed my life, and the lives of so many others. Sincerely, Bruce Potts
