View Full Version : A prayer request
For those of you here who pray, I ask that you send up one for my boyfriend’s brother Bill. He will be going into surgery for a triple bypass in about an hour’s time.
If you’re not a praying person, Rudie power will also do nicely. :)

Dee you could have posted this in the main forum... but anyway...
I do pray- well I chant- but we have discussed this before (same difference). I shall send Jimmy's brother tons of rudie power and much chanting. Please tell Jimmy I'm thinking of him too.
Puts what I'm going through into perspective.. I know you said everything is relative but still...
big hugs to all concerned:) :)

Rudie power and a giant hug. My brother had same in February and came through it just fine. He was back at work at week 4 and had all restrictions lifted about 3 weeks ago.
p.s. Warn visitors that Bill will be white and bloated when he comes out of surgery. Nothing to get scared over... just looks a bit strange and is shocking to those who don't expect it.

Thank you for the supportive messages and prayers. I'll pass them along to Jim when we talk this evening. The surgery was expected to be finished around eight tonight. I'll let you know how it went (tomorrow morning likely).

Rudie power for good measure. Dee, I hope Jim is well on his way to a successful surgery and a speedy recovery. It is amazing how quickly they have us up and going now after major surgery.
With only good thoughts for you, Bill and his brother Jim.

Whoa! LOL
It's my boyfriend Jim's brother Bill who is in surgery, Cardiffgal. But thanks for the wishes just the same. Appreciate them.
If it were him having a triple bypass, I would be pacing and praying hard somewhere and resisting the urge to have a very tall drink of something or other. LOL

Dee,
My ex-boyfriend had the same operation. All went well. I'm sure this operation and the healing afterwards will be fine too.

Good news overnight from Jimmy:
"I talked to the nurse in the recovery room and was informed that my brother is doing very well with emphasis on the very. I suspect that this was because he has had no heart attacks ...."

lol .. no heart attacks = doing very well. I'd have to agree with that :D
Good news, Dee. Thanks for the update

Dee, That's great news...God bless!
Dee, he can only get better from here on. The meaning of "doing very well" will expand. Within a while the nurse will tell you that he is "doing very well" because he now finally wears a pyama in his own size and he doesn't have fashionfits anymore like he had in the beginning.

Dee. Hope he continues to progress and do well. They've made great strides in the field of "heart health".

Well I guess that did sound funny Redjack,
But what he meant is that his brother never had a heart attack prior to the surgery.

Thats Great news Dee!!!! It's always a good sign when the nurses wake you up in the middle of the night to give you a sleeping pill...:) Still Bill and you all will remain in our prayers until he is home to antagonize you all....:)
Best to all

Glad your brother is doing well. If he is interested in holistic practices, I am happy to pass on information. I have experienced my own heart conditions and am still here on the planet thanks to the aid of specific plants, practices and changes.
Thanks again for all the positive vibes and prayers, you guys & gals. Jim's brother is out of the recovery area and in the ICU, and will likely be transferred to his room tomorrow or Monday. He is being taken care of at The Heart Institute here in Ottawa, and Jimmy says they do also apply some holistic practices there as well, Snakegrl. :)

Dee - so happy all went well.
My dad went in for triple bypass about 9 years ago and ended up with a quadruple bypass and has done well since then, despite other health issues and the fact that he just turned 80!

Hey, that's wonderful. Integration of both holistic and allopathic ways is the ticket. Thanks for passing that along. Here's to his continued recovery.

That is amazing, Denise. Turns out (I found out today) that they ended up giving Bill a double bypass instead of a triple. Apparently the third artery was 95% blocked, and they decided to minimize the trauma of more surgery saying the there will be enough blood flow to the heart now with the double bypass. Bill is Jim’s older brother, and I guess age was a factor in the decision. I have no knowledge of heart surgery, so I trust they know what they were doing, since the surgery was done at The Heart Institute.
Mini update:
Bill was moved out of ICU yesterday and into a private room, so Jimmy took him some fresh changes of clothes last evening. So all seems to be on track, following the surgery.

But seriously, Dee. I'm glad that everything is going well.
