Or a shelter for the homeless with freshly painted seperate bedrooms, safes for valuables, showers, extra clothing & shoes available, a doctor in the house, good food. I am sure the former cook and housedoctor would like to stay on.

yeah all we have to do is to get rid of the people who live their while they already have homes of their own...there is plenty of space to house those in need. and keep the staff, i'm sure they like their jobs. and what about painting it the colors of a nice rainbow, it would look a lot more cheerful. the people can stay there till they get employment and earn enough to be on their own and take care of their families in their own homes. of course then we need to lower the cost of real estate to something that is affordable to the masses and not just the rich. As a matter of fact, why don't we take ALL the well built and respectable buildings in this country that are not being used for whatever reason and make them homes for those in need. forget building new buildings there are enough unused to go around. and for anyone who feels the need to build something outlandish that they can't but can't buy because no one is that frivoless as to build such a thing, they can pay top dollar. I say START at 10 mill for your basic beverly hills type home and work up from their... all the money that is NOT needed to build the place goes into a fund to help the needy

Life is not black or white, it changes colours......we are the ones that are doing the most damage, we want more oil in our cars, why don´t we bike more, we are the ones that want cheaper that and cheaper this on the cost of mass machinery production, making people loose there jobs. Wan´t me to keep going...........?

I'd vote for a gas tax increase here in the US. It's pitiful how little money from that tax goes toward alternative energy research. Most of it here in Washington state goes to expanding roads so that the oil companies have more and more people relying on the highways. I'd also propose using some of that cash to fund public transportation projects, but it's actually law here in this state that the funds received from the gas tax go directly to road improvements and nothing else. I wonder if the oil companies have thanked the state for doing that for them...

I never said that, dear Gisli! 'Power' is not a filthy word in my book. That depends on what you do with it. Same goes for 'rich' by the way. I don't think that people who have a good life financially are bad people. Most have worked hard to be where they are. Well... except for Paris Hilton. But personally I think she is too dumb to be evil.
