<chuckle>

I don't care if it's cold and freezes,
'long as I got my plastic Jesus
Up there on the dashboard of my car.

I don't care if it's dark and scary
'long as I got my plastic Mary
Up there on the dashboard of my car.

I don't care if I freeze my pantses
'long as I got my plastic Francis
Up there on the dashboard of my car.

ROFLMAO :D

If I remember right, we've been at threat level "orange" for some ages now. What exactly happens when they bump it up one more notch? Do you know it by the falling bombs before you see the light turn red?

And just how do they decide how to set the "threat level", anyway? It does move every now and then, doesn't it? I mean, there hasn't been a terrorist attack in this country since the Department of Homeland Security was created and the "threat level" thingy devised. Shouldn't it be green? And if not, why not? What makes it "elevated" right now? The chance that President Bush might be visiting the airport you were hoping to use today? That fact that you're flying on an MD-80? Beans and wieners at the 82nd Airborne Mess Hall? I'd really like to know!

I tell you, Dave, I fly out of the Lindbergh Terminal at MSP Airport frequently and they always have a digital billboard displaying the terror level. Of course, it never goes "up", nor "down." For me the real terror alert is whether the already massive and ever growing 4 parking ramps will be full or not. Thankfully, there now is a parking "terror" alert sign as well that diverts you from the main terminal should the ramps be full, which is ALWAYS.:mad:
FYI, it turns out Wednesday is the worst day, so you need to leave ANOTHER hour earlier to find a parking space. Oddly enough, I always fly out of the Lindbergh Terminal and never the Humphrey Terminal. Yet, I am now aquainted with the Humphrey Terminals parking ramp system because that's the only place with spaces, and it's filling up too. This is nice because the terminals are miles apart, so now I get to board the Metro Train from the Humphrey to the connecting train near the Lindbergh. Two trains, and tons of walking/running. Where the hell are all these people going? I really hope the Northwest/Delta merger means that we'll have less air traffic here, but I doubt it. I think some people would be shocked at the airport size and amount of flights going through Minneapolis, as I have been in the last 5 years. Oh, and one more thing, why are all the voice recorded messages on the trains and in the terminal in an English accent now? Weird, wacky stuff. Grrrrrrr....I hate flying now. Oh yeah, and that terror level orange is weird too.:o

I wondered if perhaps the threat level went up whenever the Democrats were gaining in the polls. After all, it never specifies who is being threatened, or by whom.
