I can't believe nobody's posted anything about this so I guess it's up to me. :D

It's my pleasure to do so. This is a must-watch, do not miss video of Stephen Colbert of the Colbert report at the Whitehouse Correspondent's Dinner roasting George W. Bush and the press. I just got through downloading it, transcoding it and reuploading it to Rapidshare so everybody can watch it at their leisure if they so desire. Rapidshare gave me a "killcode" for the thing and I have no intention of killing it so unless Rapidshare kills it, it should remain there for a very long time. It was at YouTube but they took it down for copyright infringement (supposedly) but you can still view it online at a few other places. Here's the info below.

First, what I just uploaded to Rapidshare at:
Stephen Colbert at the Whitehouse Correspondents Dinner.
Approximately 63 meg in Windows Media Video (.wmv) format.

You can watch it online at Free Video Blog in two parts:

part 2

You can also watch it online (and possibly download it as well) at Google video in one single sitting:

Okay Paularoid

I've obviously diverted your attention with my woes on Australia's political situation. You posted about Stephen Colbert on the 1st May :D

OOPS! Well in any case those three YouTube links I posted the first time are now invalid. Those are the ones they took down to (supposedly) copyright infringement. The YouTube links in this thread go to clips that have a lead-in by Amy Goodman who introduces the things by pointing out that the major news media reported other (supposedly) humorous happenings within the event but managed to leave the Colbert piece completely out of the coverage. She also mentioned that the Colbert piece has become one of (if not THE) the hottest topics on the internet today. Also, my second thread about it (this one) has the link to the Rapidshare copy that should remain until it either runs past its prime or Rapidshare decides to remove it for whatever reason.

As for your Australia situation, yes. I have been diverted by that to a degree. One of the things I picked up about it is that all through their ordeal those miners kept up their humor and were making jokes about their situation.

If all this means that I've broken any rules then it should be known that such was NOT my intent and the offending messages should probably be removed. I'll try not to do that again. Spamming is never my intention. Obviously I slipped a cog over the fact that Colbert has the brass cajones that most of the rest of the activists -should- have but don't.

Just removed the offending (first) post myself. If this thread needs to be moved or deleted for spam offenses it's completely understandable. Sorry folks. Didn't mean to spam.

Hey Paularoid, I just thought it was funny. It surely didn't upset anyone that you posted twice:) You just need to drink more black tea. I heard today that either plain old ordinary black tea and Japanese tea are good for the memory. If you drink two cups a week whatever it is in the brain that affects the memory, you are less likely to suffer memory loss, but if you drink two cups of tea seven days a week, this reduces the likelihood immensely.
So darl, have a cuppa right now :D

Edited to say I watched it and enjoyed watch dubbya squirm.

Bush approval rating falls to new low in poll
Mon May 8, 2006

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President George W. Bush's approval rating fell to 31 percent in a USA Today/Gallup Poll released on Monday, the lowest recorded in the survey and a drop of three percentage points in a single week.

Bush's approval rating, at 34 percent a week ago, tumbled on declining support from conservatives and Republicans. The poll found 52 percent of conservatives and 68 percent of Republicans approved of Bush's performance, record lows in both categories.

Bush's approval rating has been mired in the low and mid-30s in most surveys amid public unease about the Iraq war and rising gasoline prices. His plummeting standing has caused growing worry among Republicans about November's elections, when the balance of power in Congress will be up for grabs.

The poll of 1,013 adults, taken Friday through Sunday, had a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points.
