Just got home, not enough words to say how fantastic Janis was, but you get the picture!

Set List

When I lay Down
When the Party's Over
From Me To You
Danger Danger
Crocodile Song
Lover is Blind
Olde English Folk Song
Fly Too High
I Hear You Sing Again

Tea and Sympathy
Here Comes the Night
The Last Train
My Autobiography
All Those Promises
At Seventeen
Between the Lines

1st Encore: Jesse
2nd Encore: Joy

Janis was on top form, she had the audience in the palm of her hand as usual, most amusing and very relaxed.
Thank you again, Janis!
Anne

Edited with correct set list, photos coming later.

Sounds like a lovely evening. Janis definitely does give the audience their money's worth and more! I've had few disappointments greater than paying a premium price to see a particular artist, only to have an opening act play for most of the evening, then for the "star" to come out, do one brief set, and leave the stage. Never any danger of that with Janis, it seems!

Yes a top show again, only got three days to go to the Holmfirth concert :)

We all had such a great time. Janis even started an impromptu disco with Fly Too High. It was great being so close up.

I'm going to Holmfirth as well on Thursday. I'm not sure how a concert will work at the old cinema but am sure it will be great. :)

Oh and I loved the stories about Janis's encounter with Bette Midler and the two ladies in the toilet of the pub in Ireland. :D

Oh, ROFL, yes, the ladies... :D An entire audience ecstatic and those two in the front "I told you she wouldn't..." LOL

I know some people who have been to concerts there and they said it was a good venue. We will see on Thursday won't we ;)

Dylan's right, Fly Too High was wonderful, not a lot of people joining in at first, then Janis started teasing the lighting man asking for glitter-ball and "more lights", so that loosened everyone up!

Here are a few (not very good) photos, but I think they do show how relaxed Janis was.

The Duke of York Theatre in Brighton was an old "picture house" as Janis put it. They didn't have a proper dressing room, she said she was getting changed in the dark in the projectionist's cubicle, with no lighting and no sink or mirror. Yet, despite all it's shortcomings, Janis still put on a fantastic show.

I'm sure you'll all have a great time on Thursday.

Thanks for the setlist- interesting that she started with When I lay Down and there's no Danger Danger- she's obviously varying the setlist a bit which is nice for people who see her several times on the same tour (i.e.us!)

Funnily enough in Birmingham Janis said Fly Too High really needed a mirror ball, and 2 mirror balls instantly descended from the celing, making Janis burt out laughing, saying "I actually didn't mean it seriously!!" but it was great, really adding to the atmosphere.

Thanks for the photos too- yes, Janis does look relaxed:)

Now that sounds almost biblical! Could it have been the "Miracle in Rudieham?"

Best to all.... Stay safe all

Actually, the mirror balls were already on the ceiling. All the light technician did was turn the spotlights on them.......looked cool though.

BTW, somebody please explain to me why I am so painfully stupid as to not take pictures with my mobile, like many other people were doing.

I always try not to look like too much of a groupie, for the fear of looking like an idiot but I always come away without taking any pictures, asking for a signature or having anything recorded....

Mrs. Cloggie was upset after the show as she was confused. She went up and had FITNB signed to her by Janis. And all the way home, she was saying: why did I do that? I am not like that. I am confused about wanting Janis to sign this. I am not a groupie......

She is well and truely entangled inthe Janis Web (last night we even listened to Olde English Folksong in bed on the laptop, with her writing down all the words....!).

Perhaps we go to the Dutch shows in October. Would like to go but not sure yet.

actually you're right Cloggie I do remember seeing the mirrorballs up there before the show began- but the expression on Janis's face when they were illuminated was priceless!

We did get Danger Danger. I think it was the third song in after janis had told us about the problems at her local library.

Yeah. That was good fun. And nice work from the Light-bloke who was clearly listening to what she was saying. :p
