Janis, I was just wondering if you have ever thought about letting your music be used for a movie musical based on selected songs? Just thought this sounded like a great idea. Tell a story and have the actors sing your songs to progress the story. Your songs seem like they'd be great to use for a movie musical. What do you think?

Well, I was actually thinking more along the lines of a Movie Musical. Not based on Janis's life, but using her songs to tell the story of girl, lost in life. I've noticed that many of Janis's songs have that feeling about them of being "lost in life" and trying to find your way. I think it could make for an interesting Movie Muiscal. What do you guys think?

From Interview with Frank Goodman (Puremusic.com 2/2003)
PM: That’s amazing. You’ve accomplished a great deal in your life already. Are there things that you’d like to do that you’ve not even yet begun?

JI: [laughs] Tons! I’d like to write a Broadway musical. I’d like to write a couple of books. I’d like to write a lot of short stories.
In that same interview she said she'd like to write her autobiography!

Edited to add: Society's Child is being used in the musical "Beehive" and was used in the HBO TV musical "Oz"
