I think back when I first came to this board a few years back and was so fascinated by that others had to say... The things we had in common, the things that we disagreed on... But we were all brought together by Janis, her songs, writing and friendship... It took quite a while to discover how much was really here for me (and so many others)... Hidden things that touched my heart and soul... Some made me laugh, others caused me to cry....

If your new here to the websit and have not read this.... PLEASE DO for an insight not just of Janis but also life....

http://janisian.com/news-2001sept11.html

I've read this many times and still find myself touched by it... After 9/11 Betty and I drove to visit brother George in Wharton, New Jersey a good 25 or 30 miles from Manhatten and from the top of the hill on route 80 the ride was so emotional seeing the smoke rising from the towers two days later that we had to pull over to the side of the road with many others...

Best to you all

R. from Pa

Welcome to the board, quietsoul!

Randy, I don't think I count as new to the board, anymore, but I've always loved that article. I love reading her articles (when I don't have the privelage listening to her voice).

I've just found my new tag line for my email. Thanks for that, Quietworld, and welcome to the board...at least you're new to me, but anyone who comes up with a quote like that has to be all right in my book! ;)

Bat:

Were you thinkin' that the quote came from Quietworld or from Janis?

came from the JI article. That's why I said: JI:" ".

I just listen. Janis speaks my soul.

I definitely knew it was a Janis quote...her eloquence is her trademark!
She speaks to everyone's soul, I believe...just go to a concert and watch the awestricken listeners...even wiggly kids sit still when she sings and talks!
She's got the magic!

We're all Janis-quoters around here (*pokes signature for proof*). But that's because, for so many of us, she really does say what we wish we were able to. I know I can't say much without feeling somewhat strangled and nervous, but Janis says it all so clearly that I don't need to.

Thanks Randy. It means a lot to me to be one of you. Even if we all are a little bit crazy.
