www.americanforests.org In addition to providing more information about historical trees and forests in the United States than most of us would care to know (though a lot of it is quite interesting), they have a store which sells seeds and seedlings from various historical trees. One can buy a seedling grown from seeds from a tree that grew in the Wright Brothers' yard, others from the homes of American Presidents, founders of the United States, inventors, adventurers, authors, and pretty much any category you can imagine (there are trees available that are descendants of others currently growing at the homes of Helen Keller, Amerlia Earhart, and Pearl Buck, among countless others). My personal favorite: one can buy apple seedlings grafted from the last living tree known to have been planted by John ("Johnny Appleseed") Chapman.
Prices are on the high side but it makes for fascinating reading. I just may be adding an apple tree to my yard this year....
